They’ll move TMac into the Jackson role and play Weideman. TMac actually played a few decent games as a ruck/wing last year. Desperately need Jackson back for the Dogs game though

Also if Gawn doesn’t up his game in the next two weeks we could be in some trouble. That being said I feel like Jackson was probably due for a rest. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Kossie, JJ and Rivers get one soon.

Will be good to see Weid in for a couple of weeks. Will also mean it could be a shootout between the three of them for who goes out when Jackson is fit.

Actually wouldn’t be surprised to see TMac push back a bit also as the spare defender from the wing, to help contain Casboult and McKay in case Petty and May need some assistance. Would assume Lever accounts for Silvagni but possibly means he won’t be able to come over the top of McKay as he might normally

Carlton have a pretty tall backline as well, think if it’s wet we can expose them when the ball hits the ground with our usual forward pressure so wouldn’t want to go too tall up forward and lose that.

EDIT: nvm Silvagni is concussed, won’t need TMac back unless Petty wets the bed

They let him leave for practically nothing
Same pick as we got for Watts + some change, so not much but not nothing. But the point stands, Maj was delisted and Brown had a decent deal on the table. We just offered him more years.

Yeah and we badly wanted rid of Watts lol. Strange from north.

Are people seriously suggesting bringing in the bloke who we picked up last minute and apparently isn’t AFL fit?
I suggested Daw just to see the reaction it would get.

McDonald, Weideman and Brown can't, and won't, work in the same forward line.

Weideman isn't a like-for-like replacement, unless McDonald moves to Jackson's role.

These are Jackson's last three heat maps: View attachment 1125525View attachment 1125526View attachment 1125527

As you can see, he's a ruck/mid more than a ruck/forward at this stage, which is an entirely different player to Weid, and even though McDonald is looking more agile, I doubt he can really play Jackson's role as he's not good enough at ground level.

Wouldn't be surprised if they bring Sparrow/Chandler in, then Gawn goes back to playing his full-time ruck role of previous years, with the occasional chop out from McDonald around the ground.

This is a very accurate post. I would be really disappointed if Weid was brought in to either play Jackson's role, or for TMac to be shifted into that role. Would far prefer a small and Gawn having an increase in ruck time.

Weid in confirmed. Keen to see how it will work.
Where are those Weid deniers now?

Weid and Tmac to split the second ruck duties perhaps.

I'm pretty sure we ended up using the Watts pick to get Fritsch

That was brilliance in retrospect

Interesting whether Weid or Tmac will give Max a chop out in the ruck, I don't really see Weid as a ruck at all though and should really be playing as a permanent forward, looking forward to seeing him play though, deserves his chance.

Interesting to see how Fritta goes in a stacked forwardline of Tmac/Brown/Weid.

Really struggled against the Swans next to Tmac/Brown (who both starred).

Think if we bring Weid in we need to drop Melk and bring in Chandler/Bedford to bring some extra pressure to the table. Fritsch can be the medium that roams further up the ground.
