It is nice to get all the positive press the best midfield, the best at this the best at that and so on. The talk after belting a weaken bombers team is like we are 10 zero. Do Not get me wrong the dogs have been very good and not played a bad game even in defeat with a lot of adversity. However, facts are we are 6/4 and a loss here will be 6/5 which is middle of the road.

So absolutely no reason to be complacent we really need to the win to be challenging for top 4.
We really need to win at least 1 of Geelong or Hawthorn games to demonstrate our bona fides. The draw is pretty soft after that, with only Brisbane as top contender to measure ourselves against

Yeah but this ignores the shit show that was the two hour lead up to the game. A massive distraction
Not sure i buy that. Yes we were one player down on the field, but we came out of the gates like a house on fire and we in front with 5 mins to go in the 2nd quarter. Then completely shit the bed in the 3rd quarter largely because we didnt adjust in the midfield

If we are as good as we seem to be -

Our golden ticket is the 9x Marvel games we have left. None of those games are against current top 4 sides. Three games against fellow 5-8 sides.

If we’re serious, we should be aiming for 9-0. Good things will happen if we achieve that.

There’s 3 games left that would be “excusable” to lose - Cats tomorrow, Hawks at Marvel and Lions at the Gabba.

If we’re serious this year though, we win all the others and win, at minimum, 1 of these tough games, if not multiple.

The tough part of the fixture is the first half. If things are different this year, we make top 4 with the remaining draw we have

Dreadful, embarrassing post. You only need to look at the heartbreaking situation the Selwood family currently face as a result of this way of thinking.

Just because things used to be a certain way doesn't mean it was right.
Not only that, it has nothing to do with "woke". I swear those types just keep adding new definitions to the word to try and complain about as much as possible.

Why excusable!? I have full confidence the boys can win any of those games, in fact they are oozing confidence right now and have stepped right up.
Can't help but feel right now that Juh and Smithy being gone have caused a bit of a reset and game change situation which appears to have been very positive, though appeared negative to begin with.
Seeing the guys doing some really Boss stuff out there now and couldn't care less about Juh and Smithy.

I think we should be able to quell Tom Stewart’s influence behind the ball given the make up of our forward line and the way we’re kicking the ball inside 50.

Are we a better team now than last year? Genuine question. I think we are.
Easily a more well rounded team. Last year we had spurts of dominant energy, but would ultimately fall away once fatigue began.

Three Reasons.

1) The rapid development of Freijah, Davidson, Dolan and Sanders as middle depth has really took us up a notch.

2) Bont and Treloar are now free to be role players instead of executing the main grunt work. Allowing Bont to snag three as a forward.

3) Our extra emphasis on Aerobic fitness in the pre-season has resulted in the squad having a clear advantage after the main break. A bad flaw, when we look back on our disappointing years.

3.5) Vandermeer effectively slotting Into Weightmans role with ease is a great relief also.

Excusable in that they are good teams. We should be going into them confident we can win, but a loss isn’t nearly as bad as if we lost to someone like St Kilda.

Agree on JUH and Smith

Smith hadn't played for us since 2023. His absence wasn't really felt much.

I don't believe him 🤣

It's a crack up. They're either hiding him or working on some big fake tough guy routine for him which the likes of Libba will struggle not to giggle at.

We know how he plays Chrissy boy, runs like a cheetah, kicks it s***, has a big mouth, acts like a d***head. 🥱 Rinse and repeat.

Or in Geelong’s case GWS and Carlton.
