Spot on ... the club has exposed itself terribly over the last how many years and it will reap what it has sown .How bout we recruit players who are ready to go straight away? By the way Jones, McHenry, Stengle, Davis, Sholl, Fogarty, Hamill are all ready to go now. The club has a knack of recruiting players slightly framed as then they have a good excuse to not play them. I believe often they recruit for the distant future and have no intention of playing that player for 2 to 3 years especially if the position they play in has a player on a 3 to 5 year contract. Some may ask why are we drafting players into positions where there are players on long term contracts? Often the club does it anyway and tries to change them into something they aren't. I understand the club has to commit to experienced players who have the runs on the board but when their form is so poor and they are still picked, this is a big problem. The problem with your theory and the afc's is that when the club feels that drafted players are ready to be picked, some are at other clubs. Hard to play players that have left. You can't blame them by the way. If we do play them and they star we then low ball them as often the club buckles to the demands of aging players who had already peaked years before threatening to leave and the club wanting to show we dont have a player retention issue. All goes to the mentality of backing in encumbents instead of recognising a weakness and using drafting to alleviate that problem.
Also they got Rozee by upgrading 2 picks which we could not or would not do . So dissapointed they out trumped us there as he always going to be a star. The pace and pressure is McHenry, Jones, MCAdam, Stengle and Hamill . All in the SANFL . These guys are a year away as they not only kids but built like kids . MCAdam and Stengle need another preseason . Ports kids Rozee and Duursma look bigger than ours . Butters is just a great football brain . We coulda had Butters and Duursma over Jones and McHenry. We will know in a year whom is on top there but def looks like port has trumped us there.

Poet playing hungry. It’s good to watch. Credit where it’s due. Hope our boys are watching.
Even if they do, it's only Gold Coast.Hard to fathom how Murphy, Hartigan & Mackay have still kept their spots. I hope they have blinders on Sunday, but seriously, what are the chances of that?
We’ll get him to 300 sanfl games if it kills us.The only thing that I’ve heard from posters at the SANFL games is that he’s completely cooked.
ThisStengle wanted to return to SA. Tigers still wanted to keep him
Rozee cost more than an upgrade of 2 picks, Polec & Pittard = pick 11 plus 3 second rounders and a thirdAlso they got Rozee by upgrading 2 picks which we could not or would not do . So dissapointed they out trumped us there as he always going to be a star.
They set themselves up well with that winged deal and don't know what Clarko was thinking.
Also have Drew killing it and actually have a young forward that can mark and killedviot with young defenders with leg speed.
It certainly looks like it is going to be hell next few years trying to handle how they are progressing to our direction.
What a stuff up from Roourton .
At least he made emergency. If he's an emergency then he's ready to go. He just hasn't been selected.
If we lose this you'll see another 4-5 changes next week, and it'll be blood the kids time.
I think we'll win solely for betts, but for the long term good of the club I'm not sure a win is best.
1) Doesn't Hodge have a touch of Heath Shaw about him, or is he a lot calmer and less rabid? I suspect that Hodge has a heart striped brown and gold.1) Reckon Luke Hodge will be as good as Clarko ... 2) Wouldn't mind the club to go after him as an assistant who will take over after a year or two.
) he might want to stay on as Senior Coach. So v Hawthorn they saidIt wasn't about the score board we played terribly and the coaches informed our players to go slow ... But they thought that meant lose the game or something.... According to campo
️Go fast.
Go slow. Pyke ain’t getting us a flag.1) Doesn't Hodge have a touch of Heath Shaw about him, or is he a lot calmer and less rabid? I suspect that Hodge has a heart striped brown and gold.
2) Do you mean like a Malthouse ==> Buckley succession plan?
I think Pyke is contracted until end 2021. If he turns the team around and gets a Flag this year (extremely unlikely) or next (I still can't see that, either, but it's a nice dream) he might want to stay on as Senior Coach.
Well, 2 unforced changes is a start. Poholke's unlucky but froze last week. I would've liked to see Stengle elevated. Are they worried about his tank?1) It is a no brainer to make 4-5 changes.
2) They were pushing it forward at every opportunity, punching it, tapping etc. Wish we did that.
Yeah, I'm thinking same now.Pyke ain’t getting us a flag.
He’s too staid and predictable.
Well, Keath is following that directive brilliantly. You seem to be overlooking that the directive from the coaches has been to slow down

Exactly, can you recall a game where you thought, “we planned well for that opposition, well coached” I honestly can’t.Well, 2 unforced changes is a start. Poholke's unlucky but froze last week. I would've liked to see Stengle elevated. Are they worried about his tank?
2) Disclaimer: I loathe PA with a passion that goes back to the 60's SANFL. Yes, I'm that old.
However, did you watch them dismantle WCE last night, doing exactly that, bringing the ball to ground, scrapping and playing on at every opportunity? I gotta say, I reckon WCE came out complacent, got jumped and lost their way by half time. Wines said post-game that it was planned pre-game to counter WCE's marking ability --- get the ball to ground and move it on, quickly.
We could use a plan like that.
The Crows' plan seems to be "Go out and play our game, fellas" which is no plan at all. When teams do not allow us to play "our way", we fold in a heap.
Greenwood?Who's improved since 2017?
Only ONE --- 2017 Prelim vs Geelong.Exactly, can you recall a game where you thought, “we planned well for that opposition, well coached” I honestly can’t.
That would be a team of hunters.Exactly, can you recall a game where you thought, “we planned well for that opposition, well coached” I honestly can’t.
At this time rozee is way ahead of jones..port were bold at trade time to trade up for their no 1 target and got himJones?
This is typical Pyke, to change like-for-like. He's a structure junkie (think: Craig) and r-a-r-e-l-y veers from what he thinks is best structure, regardless of opposition or conditions/ground.Still too tall down back
and the structure in the forward line is the same except for Jenkins going out.
Our coaches and selectors are amongst the worst in the league. In no universe was keeping Hartigan in an acceptable decision. Hartigan was our worst player last game. Our coaches and selectors are the worst in the league. In no universe was keeping Murphy in an acceptable decision.
