My bad I thought first round when to pick 30. I would say late 20s/30 is a good pick for him?I am finding it hard to take you seriously given 2.
It'd be a good opportunity to send a clarification request to the umpires dept. Squeaky wheels and all that...Cox and Ryan were both blocked allowing a gap on the lead.
If I had a team mate putting himself between my opponent and the midfielder running down the corridor I'd be able to mark inside fifty too.
We need to slow down the ball movement so we can run a defensive winger into the hole at the top of the fifty.

Well possible and good idea can be a fair way apart.Regardless the others are possible
We agree then that 2 is absurd. We'd do well getting pick 40, and that would be a significant win.Alright so I love all of these guys but if our club needs to than they are an option (all imo).
1. I don't think Darcy/Meek/Lobb can all survive as ruckman. We would get good capital from trading one of them.
2. I feel like we could also get a first rounder for Schultz as we already have Crowen and Switta.
3. If Hamlingn/Pearce/Logue can't stay on the park this year than maybe we could trade one of them.
4. And of course Cerra whether he leaves or not.
All good points. I doubt we would finish low enough to receive decent picks and we don't have many tradable players. We need more class in our team and need to be less reliant on injury prone players. That's why we need trade capital but our options are limitedWell possible and good idea can be a fair way apart.

1) I don't agree the three can't survive. I think 3 is the perfect amount of ruckman and I am comfortable with their abilities. Even if we were to trade one I think the best we could do would be early 20s for Darcy and maybe mid 20s for Lobb. Meek is token picks at this stage. All three are worth more to us at this stage than those picks. We'd then have to either spend that capital on another ruckman (our injury list easily demonstrates 2 rucks is not enough, especially when Lobb is also one of our KPFs) and draft another 18/19 yo that would take 4 years before he was ready to play.
3) Leaving aside I think there is no way we trade any of them since they are all good when playing, AP is leadership, Hamling is already on his 3rd club and is home in WA and Griff was a top 10 that looked great when not injured - we wouldn't get anything of note for any, bar maybe Logue. Logue might get us a late first if we are lucky. The other two we are getting picks in the second round at best. Again, if we moved them on, then we would need to spend that draft capital on KPD otherwise Coxy will be doing it all on his own forever.
4) If Cerra goes I'm using any top 10 picks in the draft. Any others I would probably be happy to trade for the right player although my preference with picks in the teens would be to draft forwards with any/all of them. If Port were stupid enough (they aren't) I would give one for Georgiades.
Lobb is the one I think you could convince me to trade if somebody coughed up pick ~20 for him and took his salary. As mediocre as he has been, our forward structure is garbage without him so it is probably not a good idea to move him unless we get someone else mature.
I'd also theoretically trade Pearce is someone gave up plenty but with his injuries he is more likely to retire than generate a first round pick.
.I cringe everytime I see Cerra placed on the wing. Just no.Logue Ryan Conca
Wilson Cox Chapman
Aish Mundy Cerra
Switta Tabs Frederick
Walters Treacy Sturt
Darcy Brayshaw Fyfe
Serong Giro Hughes Henry
I would be pretty miffed if we gave up a pick on the 20s for a fringe small forward. My bad I thought first round when to pick 30. I would say late 20s/30 is a good pick for him?
Yeah of couse. I'm just brainstorming ideas. We will have to wait until the end of the year to see where we finish, which players want to leave etc. Hopefully we can get a few picks together without sacrificing too much.I would be pretty miffed if we gave up a pick on the 20s for a fringe small forward.
I’m hoping for a more surgical approach to our list, and I’m not meaning that in a medical way.Yeah of couse. I'm just brainstorming ideas. Agreed, we can adapt to losing ruck hit outs - see round 1 vs Gawn and see Brisbane against Grundy, we cant adapt to carrying Meek for 50% of the game and having an immobile statue in Darcy in the forward for more than 20% of the game.
Meek and Darcy should never play in the same side again unless we have no other option due to injury IMO
What do you think we need?I’m hoping for a more surgical approach to our list, and I’m not meaning that in a medical way.

I just dont see it working for any prolonged period of time unless its against bottom 4 teams, plenty of other teams seem make do with one ruck and some pinch hitters. Darcy would just go off for a couple of minutes a quarter and essentially sit between the arcs while he's on the ground.i dunno.
im not really against a forward line containing Darcy, Treacy and Taberner this week.
im not sure I’d like Treacy Rucking while the main ruck is off the ground
Looks like Schmooky has been reading BFnot sure if posted

A return for captain Nat Fyfe is "looking really promising", according to coach Justin Longmuir, after one match sidelined with concussion. He'll need to pass all required testing this week and could be thrown into the midfield to fix a contest deficiency against the Blues. The forward line should be bolstered in his absence there by rookie Josh Treacy and talented medium forward Sam Sturt, who booted five goals in his WAFL return and boasts aerial strength. Retaining a two-pronged ruck structure would allow Sean Darcy and Lloyd Meek to rotate forward and add height in front of goals while also competing against the Hawks' twin run attack. If Griffin Logue is fit he could replace injured Hayden Young and bolster a backline that lacked height and options against Carlton. Lachie Schultz suffered concussion symptoms and will likely make way, but unforced changes are also likely after a disappointing performance. – Nathan Schmook
R3 medical substitute: Liam Henry (replaced Hayden Young)
Verdict: Fyfe, Sturt, Treacy and Logue replace Young, Schultz, Blake Acres and Travis Colyer, who replaces Liam Henry as the medical substitute. – Nathan Schmook
On the bright side, AB is now good enough to get tags, he'll work through it and get better as a result. Cerra needs to step up in these situationsPositive: Young small forwards have an impact
Nothing went right for the Dockers on Sunday afternoon. They were comprehensively smacked by Carlton.
If anything, the form of Michael Frederick and Sam Switkowski will please Freo fans.
The small forwards provide pressure and had scoring opportunities, combining for 2.6.
Michael Walters also got through his return game unscathed, kicking two goals.
Negative: Insipid midfield effort
The Dockers were thrashed in the midfield when the game was on the line and the absence of Nathan Fyfe was not an excuse.
Fyfe spent the first half of the GWS game in Round 2 forward before being substituted out and the Freo midfield rose to the occasion, beating the talented Giants group comfortably.
And yet the exact same group was no match for Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh, who did as they pleased on Sunday.
Andrew Brayshaw and Adam Cerra had no influence, with the former held well by Ed Curnow.

Yeah that'd work. Still want Sturt in as well, he could come in for Shultz though.i dunno.

Yep!Was an issue round 1 because we basically only had Tabs up there, was an issue round 3 because Darcy is incredibly slow and got beaten to the contest. Treacy who loves a contest would go a long way to solving this IMO, or was that also your point?
More chance of getting Pav back out thereWe could of used Valentes bigger body in the weekend or the fact that if he was in the team the opposition wouldnt even know he was there.
What are the chances of a debut this week?

Ha ha. It is very similar. Might just be great minds....Looks like Schmooky has been reading BF
