Sometimes, you're better off admitting you were wrong, taking your licks, and moving on.

Except I'm not wrong. All you've done for 3 weeks is promote fiction and not offer a single shred of supporting evidence, not even a bit of sound reasoning. Nothing.

Repeating your fact free mantra over and over again in response to the circumstantial evidence and reasoning I have provided doesn't make you right, it just makes you tiresomely ignorant.

Amazing how we all perceive players differently. I'd have Hendo in any position ahead of Shaw.

Personally I think they're just different. From what I saw of Shaw I thought he was a third tall with a talent for reading the flight of the ball, leaving his man and getting a fist to it but weak on the counter attack due to his disposal, whereas Hendo's more of a rebounding defender who doesn't fair as well in the air, essentially making him the opposite of Shaw. So if it came down to a choice between the two it might be decided by whose skill set better compliments the rest of the defence.

Watching "league teams" for the first time... David Parkin says Nathan Van Berlo is unlucky to be dropped.

Right, will remember not to bother watching that again.

No mention of Atkins' likely debut either
Reckon it was tony shaw once on that show, going through our side, "symes out- ooh, good player".

Please provide your circumstantial evidence and reasoning again so i can have another laugh.

We've handled CEY very poorly.

His form was slipping before he was sub. Young player who shone brightly after coming from nowhere. Wasnt the same after 2 weeks off with inj. Omission not surprising, but he'll be back.
Rather Dmac dropped instead tho.

Don't be even more incredibly stupid than you've already been.

So do you think CEY was also going to be dropped for the Geelong game as well? He's out this week as well after all, so obviously he was also out two weeks ago, that makes total sense by your idiotic lack of reasoning.

Nothing at all to do with there having been another game since then, on which the form of both AFL and SANFL players has been judged.
Looks like I've touched a raw nerve, I won't rub it in but leave your stubbornness to do the talking.

Cheney and Grigg both named in the SANFL is fascinating. Didn't expect Grigg to be ready to play at any level yet, and didn't expect Cheney to be asked to return through the SANFL after a minor back strain.

I wouldn't read too much into Podsiadly being named as a SANFL out. Atkins and Shaw are both outs too, and Lyons and Martin aren't named in the SANFL squad at this point. its pretty obvious that 2 or 3 of those will end up playing in the SANFL this week, assuming that's still allowed at SANFL level these days (bringing in blokes not named in the initial squad).

My gut says:

In:
Atkins, Shaw

Out:
VB, CEY

Sub:
Henderson, Wright or Atkins

I'm pretty positive one of Pods or Shaw will play, and that no talls will be dropped. Henderson will play on a wing, or forward, or be the sub. Personally I think Hendo is bordering on being completely useless to us moving forward - his tackling is the worst in the entire squad, he isn't using his pace and his decision making is crap. His kickouts from behinds last week were a disgrace. One of the most overrated players on our list in the last decade. Honestly, he's played less than 10 impactful games in his entire career.

Our lack of height down back was horribly exposed in the first Showdown this year, and we may well be overcompensating by going extra tall with all of Lever, Talia, Hartigan and Shaw in the side, but that's what I think we'll see, with Brown, Laird and Mackay the other defenders. Lever are Shaw are both pretty mobile, so I don't really think this would be a disastrous move in terms of speed and agility back there. Our main problem is always going to be our deplorable footskills, which is why ideally we'd have Jaensch and Cheney in that back 7 when fully fit (because both of them can actually hit targets). Smithers will obviously take some kickins and spend some time back there, but I reckon Campo will look to play him up the ground more and more as the season progresses.

Lyons and Martin are both an outside chance of coming in if we do pull the pin on Matty Wright. Depends what the selectors are looking for. I think we'll stick with Wright for one more week. If Wright somehow ends up playing all 21 games (no Cats game) it would be a pretty sad reflection on the club. Wonder how many B&F votes he's on?

EDIT: Surely we couldn't see a scenario where BOTH of Wright and Mackay play every game for the season. VB has finally been dropped - it's time these serial underperformers were ALL shown the door. I'd just love to see a side one day containing none of those 3. Pretty sure the sky wouldn't fall. We backed in Knight last week, and he was better than at least 10 other blokes out there for us. Hopefully the same faith is shown in Atkins this week. Cheney and Grigg should be back soon. Time to take out the trash.

Tired of responding to the same ignorant posts, from the same set of people who consistently make this forum a worse and worse place to post in.

Lol.

Really.

You don't even have straws to clutch at now.

Strangely id rather he be dropped than play as sub again.
Bing! It seems they've put Crouch ahead of CEY at this stage, so it's better to give CEY a full run in the SANFL, rather than another game as sub.

I'm assuming Pods inclusion could be mind games and trying to convince the Power we plan on stretching them up forward with Walker, Jenkins and Pods with them only having Hombsch and Trengove there.

It's deck chairs at this point. The mistake was made two years ago, and it can't be fixed any time soon.

Nope, its not deck chairs, its chess pieces. Its setting up for a long term vision. Deck chairs means you have to sink.
We need to find some pieces in the right spots. Dmac has had 137 games to prove himself.
Rightly or wrongly there are a lot of players on our list with unproven ability, without the chance of 100 games to show something. I want to see strategic selections.
Are they pawns that can be sacrificed, or can we find some knights and rooks that MacKay, VB etc have failed to be?

A bit like you claiming Brown was on Walters despite no one agreeing with you and the TV coverage showing Brown was on Ballantyne?
