I wouldn't put it past Noble and Campo to reverse the dropping of a seriously out of form, mediocre player on his last legs.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Sure, that's it. He was totally dropped, but it was turned around by that dastardly Noble and his apprentice Camporeale. They're also the reason why centre of excellence Phil Walsh played VB every game this year, not any other reason.

You think they're the best in the business mate? Always make the right call? You don't think its possible that after the coach dies, the guys that take over revert back to the ways that they're comfortable with. You really are a bit of a laugh.

You live in a world of pure imagination

this is why we need yarran
We need at least 2 genuine quick players and they need to be able to play...think we should have a crack at yarran and one of Hampton/ Wilson and make it happen

I think our lack of pace is being seriously exposed and gives even the bottom teams a chance against us

You watch the stats there Footy4ever.
I'll keep watching the footy. Thommo is a big reason why we are so slow out of the blocks.
Do you ever notice how many times Thommo's player runs away with the ball ? Or doesn't that show in the stats
OK I've changed my tune. You're talking bullshit. You want to back that up with any kind of facts? how about you digest a couple more?

Of the top ten clearance getters, Thompson is fifth for one percenters, and second for average tackles per game.

Back up your rubbish opinion with some facts.

Thompson has been a huge part of us getting ripped to shreds at the start of games. He's also been a huge part of our recoveries in those games. What do you do?

I really don't want to see him in the middle in the first quarter at least.

We always start with Thommo in the guts and VB on the wing - that's 2/5 ground level mids who are slow as treacle and non-entities in the first quarter of games. We're gifting a fast start to the opposition.
Dear oh dear. It's all Thompson's fault we've been starting slowly? Well I guess we all see things differently.

Spot on Spackler.. I have been thinking this for weeks.

As for VB, the poor bloke needs to go back to the reserves and find some form.. It will do him the world of good and if he can't get a kick there at least we know 100% the bloke is shot

There is zero point in bringing in Lyons, he has been weighed, measured and found wanting, same as Martin. Good state league players only.

Kerridge continues to not meet standards, apparently. Not sure we'll see him any time soon.

Cheney will return if over his back injury and Henderson will push up to the wing. The only other potential in with any kind of SANFL form at all is Atkins.

In: Cheney
Out: No idea
Cmon take a guess, here's a clue, he doesn't rhyme with Export beer

Still waiting for your comments on van Berlo's game on the weekend. What did you like most? The 6 disposals at 50% efficiency or the cooling he did on Gaff?

You have zero credibility so stop posting all this shit about Jarryd Lyons, How many full games has he played this year, let alone full games as a midfielder over the last two years? How many SANFL games have you personally attended over the last three years?

I could quote the facts, the stats but all you need to do is observe vB's first touch on Saturday night which was similar to his first touch most games this year. Straight to the opposition.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if they are full of shit , so Play on Mr Rabbit.

Would be very interesting to see what season Lyons could produce if he played every game like VB.

Changes for me for this week-

Outs- VB, DMac, Matty Wright
Ins- Cheney, Rat, Shaw

Thommo to start forward, Brodie Smith to start in the centre with Danger and Matt Crouch. Hendo and the Rat to start on the wings. Try and get a bit more pace around the ball early. Obviously Matt Crouch is not quick but has the ability to release the runners with a well timed handball. Not too sure who gets the sub vest.

Sorry for intruding.

I've watched quite a few Crows games and your biggest problem is 2 way running by your mids.

Yes, some of them have high tackle counts, which are usually coming when they are tackling at the stoppages.

Your mids rack up good numbers.... but so do their opponents.

For what its worth, I thought your midfield looked a hell of a lot better in the first couple of rounds without Thommo.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Goo luck this weekend.

It's clearly unbalanced with too many inside players , the coaches know it but it's time to change it up ... I like idea of m crouch danger and
smith starting in there with Douglas forward , thommo on pine and hendo / knight on wings with hendo to support the defence and knight to get up and down the ground but try to push forward at any opportunity ..... Use the rat in the McKay role and martin is the perfect sub rather than an inside mid

Unfort I'd give CEY an sanfl game this week but would get him in for swans game and to give thommo a rest occassionally

This is absolutely spot on. Only change is Rat on the wing. He doesn't 2 way run either....

We aren't a pacy side, and what pace we have isn't in the guts. Run and spread from stoppages is not good. As pointed out defensive run isn't good. Phil was trying to counter our lack of pace with speed of ball movement. 2:1 kick handball ratio. And a press to try and lock the ball in the forward half. Problems with the plan we've had that really hurt are disposal efficiency by foot. Bad. And when we turnover our lack of pace means we get smacked on the counter. We have to evolve by getting pace outside and better balls users by foot. The gameplan for the team we have at our disposal is the right one. Just not enough players delivering.

Only had 1 against WCE.

Hasn't had 6 in a game all year.

Still needs to be sent to the SANFL, but the hyperbole isn't required.
Cheers for that, clangers needs its definition changed because if you haven't seen him do at least 6 in a game this year you need glasses.
I bet setting your team mate up doesn't count as a clanger?

IMHO, our biggest problem against the Eagles was the effective hit-outs from centre clearances from Nic-Nat. We could have had Usain Bolt in the guts and they still would have run away from the stoppages. Once the Eagles had the ball in their F50 they set up their web and we couldn't get it out (except for the brief period in the second half of the first quarter).

The good news is that Lobbe is not Nic-Nat (it wouldn't surprise me if Lobbe is rested and they go with Easy). If Sauce can win the ruck battle then we will be in this game up to our ears. Our other problem has been our ability to control the outside midfielders of the top teams. Despite the exceptional job by the "cooler", we have been unable to control some of these guys. I thought we did a pretty good job against Hawthorn and it was only their overall strength that got us in the end. Whilst Port have announced that they have almost a full list to choose from (reverse logic?), I think the three players missing will really help us. We would be vulnerable to the outside speed of Polec and White plus Carlisle absence means Trengove will have to be more accountable.

I said before the Geelong match that despite Lyons great form in the SANFL, we can't play Thommo, CEY, Matty Crouch and Lyons. After vB's performance against the Eagles, Lyons couldn't be any worse. I would go back to Phil's original line-up and use Brodie Smith as an outside midfielder. He was outstanding playing "on the wing" against Collingwood until he copped a boot in the head in the last quarter. With Lever stepping up, Hartigan improving and Cheney (possibly) and Shaw available, our defence is looking much better.

Adding Knight and Smith to our midfield plus Hendo floating around as the extra man in defence gives us much more run.

I won't criticise the team if we lose on Sunday but I believe we can win this match and set up a run to the finals.

You're comparing the way Walsh wanted to go about it with the old settled system that existed prior to his arrival. I wouldn't put it past Noble and Campo to reverse the dropping of a seriously out of form, mediocre player on his last legs. Especially one nearing his 200th game. Walshy was implementing elite standards, we weren't there yet and that mantra sure as shit didn't exist in anyone still employed prior to his arrival.

Considering the circumstances that have transpired it would seem pretty logical to suggest that VB was brought back in against the Eagles because they felt that an experienced former captain would make for a better choice to travel with the team from a leadership perspective.

Don't get me wrong I want VB dropped this week, but his spot in the side was understandable last week even if it wasn't based on his pitful on-field form.
