I hate to break it to the Brodie Martin fans here, but he's going to be the first player delisted this offseason. Not the second or third. The first (Podsiadly will retire rather than be delisted). In fact, he's probably one of only 2 players on our entire senior list who are absolute locks to get the chop (Siggins is the other, although I guess if Otten or Shaw break in half again Siggins may get a reprieve).

Whether or not he gets a game this week is completely inconsequential.
No doubt he will and I'll agree with it
Doesn't mean he's not better than VB or wright in CURRENT form and even mckay

If the 'sub' didn't exist - does CEY play?

Who comes out if this is rthe case?

I say yes he does and Martin doesn't play.

what the shit.... really.... didn't think Martin had been that great in the SANFL. But haven't been following it as much as last year, really need to get back to it.

How long ago did we play Sturt?

That was his best game and last good one.

The RAT! Woot I'm excited, can't wait to see Crouch and Sloane added to this squad in place of Wright and MacKay soon, we'll be strong in a couple of years. It's a young squad when our leaders have only turned 25 this year.

CEY provides a height and mark in our midfield which is sorely missed.

I'm happy with the changes provided either Martin or Wright are the sub (but I expect it to be the RAT).

Lyons punished for his lack of touches over the last two weeks .

It is hard to understand that we can't play Thommo, Matty Crouch and CEY in the 21 (or Thommo, Matty and Lyons) but we can play Wrighty. Isn't it worth a try to give either Thommo or Lyons a 4 week run in the mystical Wright role?

Overall a pleasing team and a team that can bring home the chocolates.

Yes Please!!!!

He would score more goals and forward 50 marks in a fortnight than Wright has in the year to date!

If there was any truth to that whatsoever he wouldn't be playing this weekend.

Our injury list isn't massive, it's not as if other guys couldn't play ahead of him if we wanted to. If we'd penciled him to be our very first delisted player this off-season then he wouldn't be playing, it would be a wasted again - although we've done that in the past with Tambling.

His chances to remain on the list are unlikely I'd imagine but he's still some chance or he wouldn't be playing this weekend.

Hope he has a ripper.

You'd have to think Martin would be the clear favourite to wear the vest this week, but I wouldn't rule out Wright or Atkins. Barring a late change, nobody else is wearing green.

I don't mind Martin as an occasional sub. Other than that, no thanks.

Very happy to see Atkins earn a debut. Let's hope he can string a few games together and nail down his place on the list moving forward.

A lot of selection pressure starting to build on a bunch of players which is great news. In the coming 3 weeks, all of Sloane, Shaw, Otten, CEY, Kelly, Kerridge and Grigg will be putting a lot of heat on the blokes who aren't in the first dozen selected.

Unfortunately, unless Thommo is rested or injured, I don't think Lyons will ever get a gig, and he may well be finished at the club. I'm not sure we'd even get a top 40 pick for him at this point.

The Tambling incident is concrete evidence that we have a track record in giving games to certain delistees. And that was the final game of the season. And Tambling was fantastic that night.

Martin is playing in this game because the selectors believe that his attributes provide us with the best opportunity to win this game. It's team balance.

But look, I'm sure if he gets 3 Brownlow votes in every remaining game this season he'll earn another contract!

The dude is like 26 years old and hasn't yet played 40 games. It's over. Bookmark it.

For the record, I like the way Martin goes about it, and would never question his endeavour or character. He just isn't an AFL player. As I said, he's 26, he's been fit for the entire season, our list has been ravaged by injuries, and he'll likely end up playing 2 games for the season, both as sub. You just can't justify keeping a player of that age on the list at the expense of an 18-20 year old with potential.

A fair bit has changed in terms of coaches etc at the club since we wasted games on the likes of Tambling when we really gave them no chance to remain on the list.

I thought Martin was done after he didn't get a second game after playing very well against whoever it was he played against this year. That said, look at someone like Pods who we've avoided playing all year, that's because his name has been stamped and will only play if injuries hit.

Martin on the other hand is still been given a shot in my eyes given there are other guys that are pushing for selection that could easily fit into the side over Martin if we re-arranged the make up of the side a little.

Hope Atkins gets the same treatment as Knights and isn't a sub. Think it will be either Wright or Martin, would love to throw Mackay's name in that mix but I don't think that will happen.

For the record we offered Bling a rookie list spot which he declined. Agree Martin will 99% be delisted just wish he didn't cop those knee and hamstring injuries - was looking a very exciting pacy prospect. Love watching him play for the crows because he leaves it all out there.
