To be fair freo wanted to keep him and offered him a contract but he wanted to move to Melbourne because his wife had a baby and wanted to be close to family. He said he wouldn't play footy at all if they couldnt work out a trade so they delisted him.

I am not saying he is not a crap player or isn't AFL level. He is just absolutely nowhere near being a top line AFL talent.

There is a reason that Porps is being given more leeway than Petrenko, Johncock and Callinan. He contributed far more in the finals series than the other three small forwards - as well as a certain tall forward/ruck who must not be named.

I sincerely doubt that his finals performances last year have anything whatsoever to do with his selection right now.

Stiffy & Callinan are aged 30+ and time has passed them by. Pets lacks raw talent, due to his offensive limitations.

Porps survives partly because of his raw talent, combined with Sando's stated desire for him to regain form in the AFL team; partly due to a lack of alternatives in the SANFL - an excuse which runs out now Crouch is ready to return.

I was listening to MMM on the way home before the game, and Ditts put it to Roo to give a review of Riewoldt's game at half-time & full-time, saying that he (Ditts) thinks Nick puts too much effort into getting the ball at half back (and some nufty could go there instead).

I totally agreed. If Nick is the form forward in the comp, why do the Stains only have 2 wins?

Because they're a terrible club that's rebuilding. Fev was one of the best forwards in the 21st century and yet even he wasn't enough to make Carlton not look crap most the time.

I was sticking up for Elite Crow, no insults were directed my way as I wasn't involved in the discussion before this.

As for the "semi-literate inbred hick" remark, I think its probably fair to assume that this was directed towards 'Adelaidians' in general (common insult that tends to fly across the border from the east), unless Tombowler has some sort of inside knowledge of Elite Crow that we aren't aware of. I can't see anything Elite Crow has posted that suggests that he is the product of incest, so I can only assume its 'because he's from Adelaide and supports the Crows'. Call me petty, but I despise this sort of insult.

Perhaps I shouldn't have had a crack at him but the posts were clearly trolling attempts so I felt he needed to be told to piss off. Apologies for any offence caused. I'm far from a keyboard warrior I can assure you.

Riewoldt is not the problem at the Saints. He might not be good enough to drag them over the line by his hands alone, but then very few players in the history of Aussie rules footy ever have been.

What he is, however, is an extremely good player with just a couple of flaws that prevent him from being truly elite.
