Prediction Changes v Whoever The **** It Is After The Bye

i shy away fro the emotional rants above. The reality is - should we have got over the line to win against GWS and held on to win today when we had chances and were also done by some of the marginal quality umpiring as seen all day, would you all feel better.

We can not contain fast midfield and and backs the run in numbers. We recruited the slower end of the gene pool and the game has changes leaving many of our players in a time warp. To improve will take time and targeted drafting, trading. The coach whoever that is can not add fast twice muscle to plodders.

Players that we will never win a premiership with include (no bother with the short terms who are not really a problem) and those not playing today:
Both wingers who are one dimensional plodders which no physical presence - when good teams run and carry for 50-80m on the great they chip or handball to no gear attacking benefit and they defensive efforts are soft:
  • Gaff
  • Masten - already in the headlights.

  • Butler - just old and cautions the we need élan
  • Priddis
  • Cripps
  • Lecras - mentally weak and aging
  • Darling - a fumbling hard worker who lacks X factor and, skill. Also done in the head
  • Nelson I suggest is at best a fill in - works hard and looks to have pace but is only C grade
  • Hurn - see Butler
  • Hutchings - has never really been an AFL player (honest depth at best)
  • Duggan and Sheed - well they are developing but look be be B or C grade as they lack real poise, skill and élan
  • By and large the Woodhouse era
I will give you most of them but Sheed and Nelson? Really? C grade?

Did you watch him last night? He was hopeless. I'd say he's the worst captain in the AFL at the moment. Not his fault that his selection panel gives him some serious spuds to bring it in to him, but if you were the caliber of player that Tex should be, he should've gotten 6 goals+ last night.

You said career ending season.

A player is prone to have a game or two down, career ending seems overly dramatic....

.....Sheesh what is this Im debating Tex freaking Walker on my own teams board. Apologies, I'll end it there.

Need to see who plays well on Monday but Partington, Mutimer, Lamb, Barrass and possibly Cole should all be a chance if they can put a good game together
Karpany should be on that list as well.

IN:
Partington, Barrass, Mutimer, Karpany, Lycett, Lamb, Venables

OUT:
Priddis, Mackenzie, Hutchings, LeCras, Petrie, Schofield, Butler

Possible INS for the future..... Rioli, Watson, Cole

Play the kids and give ourselves the opportunity to blood the list and assess where our development and list are really at before the years end. Nothing personal to some great servants of our club but the time has come to put the club first.

Don't care if we win or lose at this point, the season is a write off so the only productive thing to do is to plan for the future.

Also don't bring Nic Nat back this year. Tell him now to take his time and get back to full fitness for next season.

Who knows apart from NicNat no one can come in and improve this inconsistent soft as butter side.

Really struggling to stay positive with this team at the moment !

Surely Venables is a chance now if he plays well enough. He's had half a season in the WAFL he should be fit enough.

It wont happen but the team need to get together over the bye as a group away from everyone else and have a few beers and tell some home truths, the Wafl boys need tonhave their say about favoritism, the leadership group need some questions asked, the players need to voice their opinion about the game plan if they are happy with it and what needs to change and the old players need to ask if they can still benefit the team plus alot more. But it wont happen the players will want to do their own thing they don't care about success or winning a flag they are not desperate for it like the 2005/06 side

Sheed has potential to be A grade has been very good the last couple of weeks and still has room for improvement.
Big on Sheed this season and his past fortnight has been very good

This squad is not taking us to a flag this year .

From today's team that should should retire move on or just not best 22 going forward .

Out - lecras - retire, mackenzie- traded, priddis -retire ,Petrie - retire again, butler - retire ,hutch - not best 22

In - lycett , karpany , Mutimer , barrass , partington , rioli (when fit ) , lamb , venables , Cole

Time to see some new faces at afl level and forgo the consequences . No point in being a middling team playing old hacks .

We have turned into norf

Hurn Barrass Sheppard

Nelson McGovern Yeo

Gaff Sheed Partington

Venable Darling Jetta

Karpany Lamb Hill

Lycett Mitchell Shuey

Vardy Mutimer Cripps Duggan

Cripps - no, nothing from him for 2 games now, and not sure about Hill either - want him out too, he is too soft at the ball.

There is not too many players that should be confident they wont be in the outs.

Out: LeCras Priddis Butler Schofield Duggan Hutchings
In: Lamb Partington Wellingham Barass Mutimer Karpany

As a fan of Redden id like to find a way to include him. But his form said to me he needed a month or more in the WAFL.

Could make a lot more changes after that shit performance

Fair points but need a few people in there that can kick goals particularly if you're adding Lamb, Venables and Karpany to forward line.

Cripps has been average but i will give him benefit of the doubt since coming back from injury. He is also part of the future moving forward and does abit of forward defensive work when up and about.

Hill gets a pass because Rioli isn't ready yet.. As soon as big Willie has some match fitness i agree that Hill would be the first player i was looking at.

I suggest the WAFL boys would do better dominating WAFL games and give evidence of pace, skill and strength of body and mind
One you see yourself asa victim you have mentally given up

Lamb & Venables will get their run soon, but I think Darling and Hill will keep their spots for now. Gov forward; Schofield and Barrass will be enough for Cats without Hawkins.

Petrie and Vardy are both genuine forward threats, we may have to rely on them to free up Darling as the 3rd tall if Gov is swung forward from the start.

Darling has got to go. I was at the game and he was horrible. Was the lowest possession-getter for the Eagles with 8 (at 50% efficiency), 4 marks (1 contested, 0 inside FWD 50), 1 score involvement, and 1 one percenter.
For a bloke who's played almost 150 games he should be ashamed of that performance. He had a great opportunity to make his mark in the team given JK's absence and he didn't fire a shot. He had 1 possession in the final quarter when the game was there to be won.
