Finals?

Long gone, don't deserve it either
You could have said the exact same thing about us before Round 14 and probably after Round 18 last year.

There's every chance a team above us could implode and lose games to non-finals teams that they shouldn't.

If we play as well as we have on average since the restart we should go 4-2. That could be enough to make finals.

NO CHANGE.
There is no one returning from injury in time for our next game, and in the opinion of the match committee this was our best 22 for this game. So, lets give them a few weeks to prove themselves and see how they go.

Ryan Gardner has played 5 games for the Bulldogs in 2 seasons, I believe we have lost them all, tonight was probably the closest he has gone to a win - a 4 goal loss, he had 6 kicked on him - 3 from obvious free kicks, he is not up to it, surely either of the L Youngs would be a better option.

Adelaide have been getting worse. They were putrid against North two games ago and got pantsed by Melbourne last game. They were very lucky to only be two goals down at 3QT but they made up for it in the last quarter.

That being said. last year we lost to a Gold Coast team that would lose their remaining 18 games and a Bolton coached Carlton team that couldn't beat anyone until he was sacked.

They really shouldn't win a game this year but I am also concerned.

I'm expecting us to be somewhere in the 9-12 range. Not high enough for finals, not low enough to get a high draft pick that will pay for Jamarra.
If we finish 9th we get pick 10
If we finish 12th we get pick 7
Can see Sam power Can trade both of those picks to help pay for Jamarra that’s if we finish the 9-12 range

Bloody hell, I only watched the first half mid-week, had no idea Melbourne blew them out of the water like that.

First half I thought they were unlucky to not be ahead, and thought they were unlucky to lose against Essendon 2 weeks ago - comparing those games to what I saw of them few games before that (in terms of their effort, skill and structure), it seemed like chalk and cheese.

Still get this feeling that their first win is just around the corner, I'll be very happy to walk away with a win.

If any team will lose to Adelaide it’s us.

We’ll roll up expecting the win in the sunshine on a beautiful Sunday and they’ll come out fighting for their lives.

Bevo will say ‘oh we should have won we’re working on it.’

It’ll be fun.

Play Lewis Young - if you say you care about our players like you say etc etc either play him or do the right thing by him and trade him.

Play Trengrove - if you say you care about our players like you say etc etc play him for the reason you traded him in for.

Play Lynch - Pace and foot skills ( you are prepared to pick Gowers Gardner etc so why not couldn't do any worse that's a guarantee)

Play West - you know what he will give you and let him get some experience in his role.

Play Sweet - he is over been an emergency and he will knock someone over, bruise the opposition ruckman perfect year and time to do it.

Out - Stubbornness

The have to lose to someone....you watch us turn up late to the game and get done like the gold coast game last year

Play Gardner on Tex. We need to back him in. I am sure he will be better for the experience and stop grabbing jumpers.
Gowers needs to replace Ed and Roarke Smith and Porter back for Lipi and Bailey Smith. If there is a mid season draft bring back Mitch Honeychurch and replace Mitch Wallis. The other option is for Bevo to be traded to St Bedes and the above follow him there.

Bailey Smith needs a rest and English needs help so I my outs would be Smith and Gardner for Trengove and West. Trengrove to play 60% ruck and 25% Forward. Would play Naughton back this week to get his eye in. he Is a natural defender so it will be easier for him to regain form in the backline after the long lay off. I would play English at FF for 50% out of the goal square

It’s a forum for gutless weak ‘supporters’ that think their opinion is warranted...we can talk about being disappointed and be upset, but half the sh*t that gets dribbled out makes a majority of the posters look like a pack of donkeys...hence why anyone that matters at the club wouldn’t bother. Like I said...head downtowhittenoval and tell them face to face...see what happems
Take it easy Lowdown, been on this forum since 2002, seen many of posters come and go. There are good comments, bad comments and yes some which go too far yet don’t let it bother you, that’s what the forum is for.

What are people’s thoughts about trialing Caleb Daniel through the midfield. Would love to see his disposal and decision making forward of centre or is his size too much of limitation to go through there.
For sure think he could go through the middle, and it should be his absolute direction not too go to ground. His role is to take the release habdball from Macrae or Dunks scrabbling on their knees to get the ball in his hands.
Then we might see some quality forward entries or at the very least retention of the ball.

Hey Lowdown instead of canning everything and everyone on here, how about posting something constructive like your thoughts on why the team ‘isn’t up to it this year’. Your words

Out
Gardner, English, Lloyd, Richards

IN
Trengove, Hunter, West, Butler

Trengove rucks. He isn’t dominant but at least generally breaks even. English needs a rest.

Hunter replaces Richards. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see it with him.

West plays midfield and Lipinski plays full time forward to take Lloyd’s. Lipinski has too many deficiencies to play full time midfield, but up forward he has clean hands and knows where the goals are. He was drafted as a forward. Play him there.

Play Butler half back and let Daniel play half forward. Imagine the delivery difference if we had both Daniel and Lipinski delivering the ball in.

if Bont needs a rest, give it to him.

Bruce can consider himself extremely lucky that Young and Schache are injured

We need to look at how the team is being coached and not just the selection howlers that are so obvious to everyone but the selection committee.

Luke is not going anywhere but time to shake up the assistants at the end of the year - too many jobs for the boys.

When was the last time an established player was dropped apart from McLean and we lose more than we win over the last few years ?

We continue to play flat out and cannot adjust or are not instructed to adjust defensively when teams get a run on.

Out: Gardiner, Richards, JJ
In: Sweet, West, Hunter

We need to be careful how we do it but really we need to put time into Lew Young as a KPD for the remainder of the year, Mc Clean as a mid and see who should be added to the desist/trade group come year end. At least have some forward looking narrative for the remainder of the year.

All players have been placed in a scenario that cannot be conducive to all for their mental health and development though they are lucky enough to be employed. 2020 is going to be the year we all want to forget, however we need to ensure we get something from it and for our team it is setting up for 2021 as.things can turn around quickly

In Hunter and West

Out Gardner and Lipinski

Need more hardness in the middle, I think West brings that over Lippa
