Murphy was so dissapointing today. When was the last time he took a contested mark? In the WAFL he gets out ahead of his opponent and takes them un-contested on the lead but without that luxury he just can't seem to hold a mark. From TV angles his second efforts were non existent.

Didn't think he was that bad. He crashed a few packs, made a few chases and a tackle to create De Boer's goal in the third.

Yep, totally agree. Whilst he didn't appear to do much, many of his leads went unnoticed. He was dissapointing at times but needs a few games to build his confidence up. If after 5/6 straight games he still isn't contributing, then I would agree with others that it time to give him the flick.

Every player that has debuted this year has played a solid game and has not looked out of their depth. Surely Harvey will take the initiative and continue to blood the new players if their WAFL form warrants it, which in Walters' and Clarke's is does.

I thought Murphy was ok today, but I think Clarke deserves a game and against Carlton at Cararra is ideal IMO. Murphy is the obvious one to make way for Clarke.

Kiwi is a crab. He's no better than Murphy and has worse skills (perhaps better endeavour) overall. We're going nowhere with both of these guys - bottom line.

Other than that you wouldn't drop anyone. Having watched the game again, I thought Hinkley was barely serviceable, but you wouldn't drop him. With Crowley out, we must be really scraping the barrel in terms of guys with AFL experience who can come in.

Gilmore, Head, Drum would be about it, wouldn't they? Is Drum going to be delisted or what? If he can't get a game at the moment he never will.

On a positive notes, it's pleasing to see much maligned players like Peake, Schammer, Thornton and especially Duffield playing good games. That must have been Duff-man's best game in purple.

I think it's important that it's not at Carlton's home ground. If it was in Melbourne, we'd have no chance. At a neutral venue, a win is not out of the realms of possibility.

he needs 4-5 games to prove himself like Head was given.
If crowley cant play - in Foster or broughton

As great as we have played the last 2 weeks i think there could be abit of a letdown next game.
They normally have a big buildup to anzac games and they had been massacred in the media so they were pretty fired up an wanting to prove themselves.
Then it was this derby as usual big buildup an bragging rights again.
I loved how the camera was zooming in on Cox's eyes with a few mins to go and you could see he was just about to cry, yep its just another game to them anyone who thinks that has no idea.
The players actually get along ok with each other of field an are always making little side bets and love being able to brag about it an stir them up.

So this game wont have that same buildup an could be a small letdown.
I think them games might of taken alot out of them an might not get up for this 1

Its not acceptable though so if it happens harvey an co will need to have some stern words an lay the law down to them that they MUST play every game with that same intensity they have shown against syd an egirls.

No changes for mine, outside of Crowley if necessary. No one was woeful in the match (I thought Dodd made some horrible mistakes, but he plays his man well). Murphy was always presenting, wasn't as bad as made out.

Reward AFL form before WAFL form.

What I meant was instead of replacing injured experienced players with WAFL "experienced" players (Gilmore, Head), we replace them with debutants, because it's quite obvious that they have shown a hell of a lot more than Gilmore and Head.

Ill be there as well. As for the ground, played there a couple of times myself and there is fairly deep pockets, so I reckon could be a decent venue to get Murphy's ball rolling. Also, if you have a look at the history at Carrara there have been some decent hauls. 6 players with more than 10 goals.

Did you see Murphy shirk that contest near the 50m line in the middle. He simply put his whole body to the side (even though he would have been first to the footy), and the Eagle player ran straight through for a clearance up the corridor. He could not even lay a tackle.

Those things stick in my mind and I just think you pussy. When we win even the players that do not contriute can get free ride. He was simply a passenger last night. But hell he needs 150 games to hit form so keep him in there.

I reckon Drum has just about had it - only named as a bench player for Perth and from what I heard could almost have been dropped to the twos.

Agree with others in that Clancee should come in playing in the backhalf with our standard midfielders (Schammer, Mundy and the like) playing the role as taggers where required. Given that Murphy is essentially playing a role as an auxilliary forward, a swap between him and Walters should probably be on the cards as well.

You're probably right SMan, but I dearly hope you're wrong. Until we win a game following a Derby win the EGirl supporters will always have the opportunity to bag us about us playing our grand final against them.
