Apparently Ian Collins has stepped in and sent Bont to the tribunal

You have to think Bont was lucky not to get a week after the medical report maybe it was leagues apology 22 years post Chris Grant. Can you imagine the uproar in the press if the Bont wins the Brownlow. Things seem to be rolling our way recently may it long continue.

There’s no provision for appeals or retrials :). Expect the AFL to pop up with another amendment to the rules :smirk:.

I am sure we would appealed if he got suspended on a number grounds.

1 It was a block not a bump, what is high it was not the head it was part of the throat equal in height to the shoulders.
2 Ziebell with more a forceful late hit causing broken ribs on Cloke 2 years not suspended because it was not high.

They didn't seem to have too much of a problem with Tom Mitchell winning it, after he very intentionally elbowed Todd Goldstein in the back of the head.

lets keep our backline guys together as a unit. Cordy and Wood lose 40% of their defensive 1:1 contests, but surely teamwork and positioning count for a lot too. Defences dont like 1:1 contests....

Crows supporter here....
My mate lives in Melbourne, and is having his 40th this weekend in Ballarat, and the d!ckhead didn’t grab himself any tickets to the game on Sunday as he’s run off his feet organising his bloody birthday!
Anyone know of any tickets floating around? Would like 3, but happy to literally take anything. We know we’re going to lose the match, but we wanted to tie it into the weekend anyway, and don’t want him to miss out on the misery.

Unfortunately you're going to struggle

Where is the best Pro Bulldogs bar/pub to watch it in Melb
You probably need to head to Footscray/Seddon/Yarraville. The Mona Castle is an old school Bulldogs pub. The Railway in Yarraville will show it and Jack Redpath often in there and I think Ryan Gardiner worked in there for a bit. Railway is a bit hipper and has a good screen upstairs on the covered balcony.

Thanks mate. Flying in from overseas at 1230 sun so cant make the ballarat trip in time. Can make bounce down but at a pub

All aboard the bulldog train on Sunday. First time by train to Ballarat who is going by train? I assume there is a bus from Station to the ground and the 10.50 is the one to catch. Hope it is going to be very happy train on the way back.

The fans are waiting at the station gate
Not very long to we know the bulldogs fate
The anticipation can be felt all over the train
Can Bevo's stars terrific football continue to reign

Memories of big games with the crows are not great
In the 2015 elimination final we beaten by Taliagate
Who can forget 97, Libba's non-goal which caused a loss
It is time for a crow payback and show who is boss

There is a free shuttle bus from Ballarat Station that runs to and from the ground in a continuous cycle apparently.

The weather forecast is slightly more positive than it was a few days ago.

0-2mm of rain expected. Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning. Winds southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h becoming light during the evening.

Any word on Dickson?

Didn't have a possession after qtr time and some said he copped a knock, however he is not listed along with the other injured players.

0000

It does highlight a quirk - some might call it a flaw - in the AFL rules.

If you're lucky you get your opponent at an angle that causes no damage. Result = fine.
If you're unlucky you get your opponent at an awkward angle (same force, same point of contact) and he gets injured. Result = 3 weeks.

I can see why they do it but it can be a bit random.
Also open for abuse in the precise situation Bont found himself in. Opposition likely to play us again soon and in their interest to have him rubbed out. Simply exaggerate the severity, Drs add this to their report, player more likely to be suspended.

Checked what the weather would be out of curiosity this morning. A high of 9 degrees, boy oh boy wowee
Already told the misso that there will be no plans for Sunday morning/afternoon, starts at 11:10am my time & I'll be ready
