Wouldn't be surprised to see Callinan in this week. Not because he deserves it but just because he's one of Sandos favourites.

Callinan can play.. but at 31 he's missed the boat. There is little point to selecting him now, as any games he plays is effectively one game fewer played by one of our youngsters. Callinan will probably be delisted at the end of the year, in one of the harsher list pruning decisions that they'll have to make (noting that some far less deserving players will still be employed in 2014).Wholeheartedly disagree on your comments on Callinan. The lad can seriously play. Would be nice if he got a few more possessions, but again, he can play. I'm just angry we didn't recruit him years earlier when he was younger.
But Tambling? No offence to the lad on personal level, but in terms of a "good choice"....that was the biggest recruiting nose dive into the sewer since that clepto-junky-halfwit we recruited decades ago (sorry....can't recall his name). If someone remembers his name?....much appreciated.
What I'd like to see and what I expect to see are two very different things.
Like:
OUT: Danger (inj), Wright, Thompson (inj), Jaensch
IN: Grigg, Hartigan, Johnston, Petrenko*
Expect:
OUT: Danger (inj)
IN: Grigg
* Pets gets the nod mostly due to a lack of other viable alternatives (Callinan & Tambling are not viable alternatives).
In no way am I a fan of McKernan....in fact I'd be looking to trade him. But in terms of agility and general field play, he makes Jacobs look like a (tall) tree stump. That game was the only time in his entire AFL career that Smack has ever looked even vaguely like an AFL player.
As AFL ruckmen go, he is one of the worst regular rucks in the competition. As forwards go.. let's just say that his forward play makes his rucking look like a work of genius. He doesn't have a footy brain.
Last week he showed that he could actually mark the ball. He still can't kick to save his life and his decision making was beyond terrible. He has all the grace, coordination & agility of a newly born giraffe.
If I were given a choice between Jacobs and Smack, it would be Jacobs every single day of the week.

Yes, I agree with what you've said. But what gets me is that lots of people sh1tcan Callinan, where he's got bucketloads more talent (even now) than a heap of hacks on our list. Should we continue playing him....now? No, probably not, but that's only because of what's bolded. Not because (as some people suggest) "he can't play".Callinan can play.. but at 31 he's missed the boat. And I think the name you're looking for is Laurence Angwin. That's one selection that gets laid directly at the doorstep of Uncle Gary - going directly against the advice of Fantasia and the rest of the recruiting department.
I haven't had anything good to say about Tambling's recruitment in a very long time. I jumped off his bandwagon while it was still full of shinytoyitis sufferers.
By no means am I saying that Otten is utterly useless - far from it. But is it just me, or is this lad forever falling over? I would dearly like to see how he actually performs any sort of lateral/agility training. He looks like he couldn't side-step around a tree. Just no agility.I'd love to see both of Hartigan and Johnston given a go for at least a fortnight but can't see it happening unless there's an injury to 1 or more of Lynch, Rutten, Talia, Jenkins, Otten unfortunately.
Yes, we should all be sheep & follow blindly...All hail BACCS the ultimate supporter
I was operating under the assumption that Kerridge is still injured. Happy to include him at Petrenko's expense if that's not the case. Not a Kerridge fan? I'm told he was very good for Sturt on the weekend. Surely he'll be back in crows colours this week or next...
Seriously.. if Johnston can't get a game this week, with Smack suspended and Walker injured, he never will.. Looks like we have another player to be added to the list of certain departures at the end of the year.Johnston picked for North, Hartigan for South, Shaw for Glenelg
Fingers crossed Tambling should only be on the emergency list. Our game is on Sunday afternoon, so they'll be naming a list of 25, with a 7 man bench, 3 of whom will drop out before the game commences on Sunday.Tamblings last chance? Time to shine mate or you're gone. Good to see Kerridge back. Disappointed no Johnston yet, maybe his fitness hasn't been deemed good enough yet after that injury. Hopefully Grigg plays...
What was I saying all week about the selectors going out of their way to avoid picking him? They've truly outdone themselves this time.
