Reflecting on the first half of the year, there are very few freakish goals/plays that spring to mind. Even when Jake kicked 5 v Saints, they were more conventional than what we often see from Jake. I feel like we need some magic to build some momentum and confidence ... ideally a freakish goal/mark from Easton, Bont, Jake, Liam or Dahl. My feeling is that we are only a few sparks away from re-igniting!

Perfect time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of R13 v Melbourne 1992.

I'm fully expecting a left field selection from Bevo this week. One of Declan Hamilton or Brad Lynch to debut. You can just feel it.

Apparently Bont's played alot of forward recently without the presence of boyd and Smith, is this true?

Even it is, will he play more midfield this week once they're back.

Bont is good as a mid.

Ah the old denounce a player on the main board before switching to the clubs board move...

Boyd will be back but Smith won't. Bont has always played large forward minutes, but even moreso lately.

He's clearly injured. Watch highlights from an early game this season and see how much quicker and freer he moves.

You didn't notice the injury Bont is carrying? Poor form to be bagging a player you don't even watch.

Bont>>Cripps/Merret>Kelly

Get the feeling some opposition supporters have been waiting for a drop in form from Bont. Bit of jealously maybe

No doubt his last month has been poor, but his first 6-7 weeks were elite.

I have no interest in any ridiculous Bont Merrett Cripps whoever comparison. Absolutely none.

By the time Bont is 23 he will be captain of this club or vice captain.

By the time he will be 25 he will be the best player in the game or very close to it.

When he retires we will remember him as one of our topper topper most greats.

Feck the doubters.

I would rather see Libba be scrubbed out for 2-3-4 games for flying the flag for a team mate, than watch him float around in the VFL...has to come in, stats count for nothing when you have zero spirit.

yeh possibly i agree also, fly the flag

FFS we are premiers, you earnt that right to intimidate teams. Make yourselves be feared

We're still very young though. Can you imagine this group when they're in that 23-27 bracket? We're going scrag and mongrel the shit out of teams.

I want to see us go in with Cordy, Libba and Honeychurch this week.

Honey has earnt another chance the hard way and won't leave anything on the table when given an opportunity.

All 3 guys have some mongrel which we've been lacking recently.

I'd love to see Cordy forward in place of Cloke x 100

8 goals 1 behind last season from 9 games

3 of those goals game in the prelim and GF

And he hasn't even been really been played as a forward.

It's a no-brainer to me. This feels like a development season at this stage, and even if it isn't I'd trust Cordy in a big finals moment ahead of Cloke. He's probably a better ruck than Cloke too.

I want to see him fly for a mark and dig his knees into some poor bastard's back and head. Start a melee Zaine and get the boys fired up. He's a ripper.

Is he really just 191cm as listed? He looks bigger that out on the field

He's listed as 193cm. I'd say that's unders too!

I'm expecting a bit of a reset this w/e. Following the appalling effort vs Swans it is needed. Considering only best 22 n/a are Murphy, Adams and Smith ( maybe Dunks too) we are not going to blame injuries. Morris & Boyd have not played for 3 weeks so should be rested up. Most of our players have only played 1 game in that time too, so they should have freshened up (bye week then a 10 day break), so no excuses there. Libber is back in the frame, as well as some consistent VFL performers like Williams, Webb and Honey. So I'm betting Bevo will put his best available 22 on the park and put it to them to fire up. GO DOGS.

Out: Moyd (call it shoulder, groin, gout, arthritis - I don't care just get him out, he's done), Adams, English.

In: Toyd, Morris and Williams
