There's not much point tanking to give Carlton a better pick.
its irrelevant to us what pick carlton get or we are worried about is the pick we get from them

LOL one of the great moments of the last 20 years. I checked on youtube and surprisingly it's not there.
Hard to be critical of Pittard.
Hard to work out issues surrounding Atkins. Some of his poor efforts stretch back a bit, and surely we can assume there’s been some strong conversations at a minimum.Disappointed we didn't drop Atkins - he has been putrid most of the year.
Can't argue with Himmelberg/Jones being dropped -both were not offering nearly enough. They will come back stronger and hungrier, but in the meantime we should be giving a Mchenry/Mcadam/Stengle a go.

Didn't want to run into 1970crow ...Mackay probably happy not to go to the NT after last time

Yet here we are down the track and no selection punishment.
Can only assume he’s performing as they want him to. But I agree I would have spelled him 2 weeks ago.
Would hope he would supply run. Shows glimpses and then nothing. Has the talent but seems play well when everyone around him is playing well. To me he goes missing a lot.Hard to work out issues surrounding Atkins. Some of his poor efforts stretch back a bit, and surely we can assume there’s been some strong conversations at a minimum.

Google is your friend...
Exactly. Add Laird. He wouldn't be an emergency if he was unwell.
I reckon this goes back to my statement after R1. If Seeds, Milera and Smith were all fit for that game he wouldn't have played. They picked him last week but realised their error.
You are now on a Terrorist Watch list.No Google is an evil company, they are not my friend, they are evil and must be destroyed
He's been largely unnoticeable in every game I've watched this season from him, other than a short cameo for a quarter here or there. I think every other Crows player that's strung together 5 games like he has this season has been dropped. That first half against West Coast was promising enough, and you'd expect fade outs/bog average performances at half forward as par for the course. Firmly at the bottom of the chain supply wise, and would be a position that would be primarily about just playing to a structure and making the most of the scant opportunities you would get. Something Gallucci usually does well (but like all kids has the occasional horror moment that experience will inevitably clean up).
Equally in saying that, it's also not hard to see why we're thinking there is a bright future here. Good amount of strength there, very quick, good defensively (usually) good short kick (usually) would translate to a midfield role well when he does inevitably make the switch (and I'm guessing we're not far from pulling that trigger either). Tools are definitely there for it.
We aren't boosting his trade value on the back of those numbers.Or playing him regularly to boost his trade value
Like the Gooch but agree he’s not where he needs to be right now. He's been largely unnoticeable in every game I've watched this season from him, other than a short cameo for a quarter here or there. He's averaging just over 12 touches a game and has only managed 1 goal and 7(!) tackles. So he's not kicking goals, he's not making tackles, he's not racking up possessions. So what is he doing? Running good patterns?
Huh? So you can pick the eyes out of three losses and point at having these guys in the 22 as the reason? Cmon. All that sounds great and positive and all..but with all that quality we still could not beat brisbane, a bog average hawthorn and a rubbish north melbourne side. Tells me these guys are just average players
Hoo ******* ray
No 18 year old needlessly missing a game this week
Watching Hberg the last two weeks he has definitely been struggling offensively.
Against the Lions he started quite well controlling that CHF area. Then they out Andrews on him and he was a passenger. WCE game no real impact other than a decent tackle count, so at least the effort is there.
He has had two games against very good backlines, and struggled. I think a key part of him playing in the Reserves is in getting into a better head space in terms.of dominating a game from the forward line.
He is not 21 yet. It would be easy for a kid to get stuck into a negative grind once the reality of AFL footy kicks in, ie other teams will start taking notice of you and try to negate your game. This is magnified for a KPF where he is more likely to have a mature body against him for most of the game. He is still a kid. We need him to learn to thrive rather than survive.
Given his last two games it is good timing a mental break in a lower league.
I think this kind of reasoning is more why he has been omitted rather than getting Jenkins in.
Of course if Jenkins comes in a changed man and competes and does well the SANFL stint may be a bit longer.
With Mackay as travelling emergency any player under a cloud will be put under the most gruelling fitness test ever encounteredTwo emergencies? Lynch is going to be a late out isn't he?
Great post re EH management, excellent observations.Watching Hberg the last two weeks he has definitely been struggling offensively.

No doubt it will be a mandatory requirement for all players to successfully wrestle and subdue a croc in order to be passed fitWith Mackay as travelling emergency any player under a cloud will be put under the most gruelling fitness test ever encountered
I have to admit that "the plan" (sending a forward into the midfield, leaving the forward zone one man short @ 5-6) made little sense to me. All I was saying was that Tex was given a job to do and at least in Eddie's eyes --- and his teammates' --- Tex did that job, but it meant he was 2-on-1 against and could not possibly be pro-active. So, Tex was out of action, EH had burned out, leaving Betts/Murphy/Milera/Knight to kick our goals.I always think the best defence is offence. I like to see an attacker be the one the defenders have to worry about until the ball is turned over or is about to be turned over.
