Out : grey ( don't think he is 100% right after injury)
In : langdon .

I feel for Sam, but he seems quite limited and I believe that is why he isn't getting a look. I suspect whatever reason saw him dropped back to Peel hasn't improved. No one doubts his ability to take a mark. I don't think Ross has a vendetta.

I don't think Ross has a vendetta either. I do think he's very rigid and unimaginative with his selections though. He sees Collins and thinks "He only plays if Johnson or Hamling doesn't".

In reality Johnson is better when he doesn't have to defend on a key tall and could play the role that Logue is playing at the moment, with Collins taking Johnson's role. But that is too outside of the box for Lyon.

I am not sure it's that either. Probably harsh, but I think Collins is just a stopper and interceptor. A more marking less spoiling version of Zac. If Sam goes away over summer and comes back with a raking right boot, watch Ross change his mind.

I totally agree that Collins in for Logue makes us stronger now, but that is not really the aim. Stay the course with Logue and hope he pays off long term. Not against bringing Collins in if we need to give Johnno a rest though.

Collins is only 23, I think it's a bit much to use the age argument to justify not picking him.

I am not saying he can't get better but not all players have the same ceiling. That is totally fine.

Logue clearly has tools just NFI how to use them yet. Collins only has a couple of tools and knows them really well. That is the point I was making. I also think that Collins is more Hamlings backup.

Out: Suban, Sheridan, McCarthy, Sandi, Grey

In: Blakely, Nyhuis, Bennell, Tabs, Langdon

OUTS - Sandi, Sheridan
INS - Tabs, Blakely

Would love to see Nyhuis as well, but wouldn't be opposed to leaving him one more week and challenge him to perform at that sort of level again. (First big possession game for him and I think he'd benefit from having a few of them rather than getting less pill at AFL and not really 'securing'* that ability to find the ball)
*for lack of a better word

There's only 7 games left for 2017. Players should only get games if they will be on the list next year. Are you willing to extend him???
He's actually stepped up when brought in. Guys like Sheridan and Sutcliffe haven't, so they'd be on the block first you'd think.

Based on his last 2 weeks I think it's fair to say in comparison to other players who have had their run and trials in the senior side this year, he's definitely doing a good job at keeping his spot. He might of been an easy punching bag on here in the past but in reality there isn't anything to really fault in his game.

We have 6 players who are rightfully on the chopping board before him. I wouldn't get trigger happy with Suban just yet. Learn from Barlow.

If that is how he plays then that is more than good enough.

I might have missed some but the two most obvious kicks inside fifty that were put in the right place came from Suban and Sheridan.

In: Hill, Blakely

Next week:
In: Bennell

Yep. Sutty already out and Rixx was also one of my outs.

He's been OK, but we've seen players come in and play a few good games in a role before, before reverting back to their natural spudness (e.g. Sheridan can tag, D.Pearce can i50). I don't think Suban will be here next year. With so little games remaining, why waste on this perennial hack?

Barlow out allowed a kid to come in and develop. Kinda the point of rebuilding I thought. Sucked seeing him go, was great watching him chop up for Suns, and sad to see his broken leg. But it was a win-win situation I think. My drop Suban call is based on 6 or so years, not two ok weeks.

Edit: plus pull him out whilst he's ahead - could have teams interested in FA at the moment. It's only downhill from here. We all know it

Hopefully suban keep performing , so some Vic or other club coming asking for his service .
Haha we will turn him into Cameron Ling 2.0 and he will nick off to Victoria and come back to tag Fyfe out of the game!

Good on him if he does. Guy clearly works his ass off so it is hard to begrudge him success.

We can't just cull all the experience and older heads that we have.

This year we will definitely lose:
Griffin
Dawson
Ibbotson
DPearce

With possibilities in:
Ballantyne
Johnson
Clarke (Delist)
Sutcliffe (Delist)

Regardless of their status from our point of view, that's still a wealth of knowledge and experience that will not be at the club next year which is still valuable to reasonable extent to our younger players.

Ballantyne and Johnson apart, you can't really compare Subans year to the others. So why get rid of him when he actually can bring something to the team and he's been showing that. None of those other players were able to show anything so no point grouping Suban with them.

Also I agree with Barlow, although I think we learn through Barlow that we get it right with who we do and don't move on.

The issue there is that sutty and D.Pearce are both contracted for next year. I know right - yay! Hence Suban just has to go.

I really doubt we'll delist Sutcliffe. He might not be in our best 22 but you need more than 22 players and he's good depth + still young.

In: Blakely, Hill, Langdon
Out: Sandilands, Sheridan, Grey

I think the more we can keep Ryan/ Logue/ Weller/ Hughes/ Hamling playing together the better. They will be our distributors off half back for the foreseeable future and they are all great kicks (except Joel) so getting the chemistry right is key, just like we had in 2013 with Duff, MJ, McPharlin, Sutcliffe, Spurr, etc. A Pearce then be the cherry on top and to replace Johnson next year with Nyhuis also around the mark.

Up forward, with Blakely and Hill back, i would like to keep Fyfe there longer and try the same forward line. Fyfe is a competitive beast and think he can work will with McCarthy and Cox - they just need to gel and McCarthy needs to find some form.

We wont delist him because we're soft. He is literally one of the worse players in the AFL. Put him up for trade, Spudcliffe is very, very shit.

Logue is a bit off the pace with ball in hand, but as long as he's doing a decent job defensively I'd keep playing him.

If McCarthy isn't suspended, please drop him, right now he is the worse performing forward in the AFL by a long, long way. Horrendous 2 months, we dropped Tabs and Kersten, send him a message and drop him. Play Tabs and Cox as our forwards, sure it's a fairly average forward line, but it sends a message, plus those two are our best marking forwards anyway.

We won't delist him because we've got about 8 other players to delist first and you only get 4 draft picks. No point delisting him for the sake of it. Only delist players if you need the space on your list to bring in others.

He might be shit but he's flexible and not too old, I don't think we'll delist him for those reasons.
