From the live chat and this has to be the most underwhelming changes i have seen

ADELAIDE
In: J.Porplyzia, M.Jaensch, R.Sloane, S.Shaw
Out: J.Lyons

hopefully Lyons for Sloane - (is Lyons injured?)

Other three emergencies

That makes sense and hopefully you are right but still it is a bit of a kick in the teeth to see Jaensch and Porplyzia selected after a pretty piss poor season, even as an emergency.

Why not bring go all out and back Callinan, Tambling and Johncock while we're at it?

13th and loving it...

Can someone please explain how Porps and Jaensch are named ins ahead of Kerridge? Really interested to hear the rationale for this.

Maybe they would rather Kerridge play at Sturt rather than sit out and miss another game.... he sat out last week and didn't play at all while being an emergency

On a positive, Grigg has been named on the field so should get a full match

Does anyone know when was the last time Kerridge played for Sturt? I know he was held back last week... Did he play the week before?

If we end up with a reserves team, one of the top priorities has to be to ensure that our SANFL games are played after our AFL games as much as possible, so that we don't have this ridiculous situation where the fuys who are knocking on the door of AFL selection are sitting out weeks of footy as emergencies.

The treatment of Lyons and Kerridge has been unbelievable.

Kerridge couldn't come in, he lost his fitness after being our "resting" emergency last week. His treatment this year has been disgraceful, what about Slippery and the rest of the MOB, do you still have those pitchforks and torches?

Fair enough to leave Lyons out if he is injured / sore but why do we have to keep watching the farce of one of the champions of our club play on one leg for the last two months.

Big chance for Nutta next week.

So is this confirmation that we are shopping Jaensch around? "See look, he does have currency, he was semi-regular in our team, can play back or forward, just over 50 games prime to break out"

Or is Kerridge going to be traded and a deal has been all worked out bar the paper-work and won't figure in our side in the future?

Or Both?

*shakes head.

I think they are keeping in line with my 50 gamer theory. Grigg is the kid this week... got to keep to 8 or under 50 gamers ;)

No but Harper and Trigg will be truly shocked and outraged when he walks out just days before the B&F. Surely we can get his Rising Star nomination annulled and handed to Brown by default???

yep. both sound plausible to me. no other possible rational explanation

I think Lyons is just rushing his kicks a bit, like Crouch when he first debuted and on return from injury. Laird took a little while to demonstrate the kicking ability he'd been known for in the SANFL.

It does take time to get up with the pace of the game, but there have been some real lace-out bullets from Lyons both in the pre-season and sprinkled among his H&A performances.

He's possibly lacking a bit of fitness and carrying a niggle. Hopefully a strong pre-season will sort that out. Might need a week or two off now so he can be fresh for the last few games.

I would say that Jaensch has only been named due to Brown 'being sore' this week. Incase he doesnt get up, Jaensch to replace him as a small back.

Relax, they are confident there's going to be no need for the emergencies this week, so that's why they've named Jaensch, Porps and Shaw. Kerridge to go back and play and push really hard for a game next week. That's their thinking. If Kerridge was in Grigg was out, they seem to be getting the hang of this give a kid a block of games thing.

Still if it were me, Thommo out and Kerridge in, just to see what happens.

So Thompson plays again. Great

Lyons needs a rest, but the three squad inclusions besides Sloane are a potato farm.

Shaw with rubbish SANFL form, Porplyzia completely out of sorts, Jaensch coming off what has been a very poor year. If either play I will be angry - in fact I already am.

What's so wrong with playing the likes Kerridge and Hartigan when the season is over FFS?

It's Kerridge's second year. At the end of the day it isn't the end of the world if he plays out the rest of the year in the SANFL. Jaensch was probably brought back because there's a chance one of the small backs is sore (Brown?). Porps is in because they'd rather have Kedge play in the SANFL then be the non-playing emergency again. He should really be looking at next year to step up and cement a spot in the team, and maybe get a bit more time rotating through the midfield. He's not going to request a trade because he isn't a regular in his second year FFS, he isn't that kind of guy. He's played, what, 10 odd games? If I were him I'd rate this season as a big success.

Also, they must really rate Shaw to bring him in, even as an emergency, after some pretty so-so form in the SANFL.

Now that Lyons not in this week will he have to dominate SANFL for another 15- 20 weeks like before although played good AFL games every week for us whilst Porps-- Jaensch -- Smack -- Pets etc play a average AFL game now and again and a good SANFL game a few times .
Kerridge also got the tools to be a very good AFL player and shown like against roos last time can dominate and last SANFL game was rated higher than Jaensch also not getting confidence to hit 2014 running.

Surely Kerridge should have come in too for Thompson.

What is being gained by playing an injured Thompson who has been largely ineffective with the use of the ball (ie. crap DE).

North must be loving that we left out Kerridge after his last BOG performances. Have we not heard of horses for courses?

Those are our changes?

What a joke.

****ing unbelievable.

The fact that we're not in finals contention anymore makes these selections even more pathetic (and takes away their pissweak excuse for their constant moronic decisions anyway).

When is Harper or one of the other clueless clowns on 5AA next?

I'm glad if Shaw is an in if it means Otten is out, he's too slow.

An injured Thommo keeping out Kerridge who has been in form in the SANFL is just unbelievable. The season is gone, why are we playing injured players? Thommos last 3 weeks has stunk.

Our selectors are ****ed in the head.
