Stringer should be back if it was just an illness.

Worries on Bont, with Bev saying in his press conference that he'll be touch and go with an adductor issue.

How do we find room for all of Roughead, Talia, Hamling and Roberts? Talia deserves to be playing but none of the previously mentioned deserve to be dropped, I suppose it's a good problem to have.

Hamling has played as forward in the past for Geelong VFL & Roberts was recruited as a full forward. One of them could hopefully developed into a swingman that can go either end if needed.

Roughead starts in the ruck with Minson at full forward, as we did yesterday. Talia, Hamling and Roberts can co-exist I think; all three have played small at both AFL and VFL level.

I do think we need a big key defender that is competent one-on-one, though - then it might be difficult to fit them all in.

OUT: Bont (rest/inj), Dale (omit.)
IN: Stringer, Crameri

If Bont's ok, Grant probably makes way. Still extremely confident on Dale, just think he's been pushed out for now. He'll be back.
What did you make of grants game yesterday dannnnnnnn?

Thought he was good. Did you see him lay a block for a teammate? Never thought I'd see that! Was a good one too.

Aside from that, thought while his involvement was small, he did everything asked of him. Was capable defensively, provided a link up marking option around the ground, pressured a bit, was engaged in the game and when moved forward had some exceptional leads and grabs. Set shots still an issue though (but they are for the entire squad). Don't think he's best 22 but he's becoming a guy we can rely on to play a role when required.

His contested marking is very good at the moment, jumps very high for the ball. His kicking is not great though, hate his ball drop, can't believe he hasn't done some work on this. It's interesting comparing him to Dickson, has height, pace and agility but just not enough nous to get to the right spot. Dickson always gets to the right spot, how about that goal when the ball came out to the front of the goal and he was there, like he always is.

This week is as good as any to give Tom Boyd the week off. Interstate game and with the bye the next week he is effectively having a 2 week break. Ditto Bonts.

No point playing both when we need them after the break and winning games.

Stringer and Crameri come back in to replace both guys so at least we are getting some talent back.

Toby McLean kicks goals in the VFL then we can swap him in for Dale (who can have the week off too).

Would like to see Talia back in to take on the 3 talls of PA (Westhoff, Ryder, Schulz).

You just wonder at what point a coach, any coach, will sit the fitness monitors down and tell them to GTFO. Would love to see what might happen if every forward had 50 set shots for goal after each (slightly reduced) training session.
