Fair call but we have been soooooo inconsistent of late........
Melbourne was the only shocker. Great against freo and were punch drunk in the second half against st kilda, who are in fact, stacked with mature aged talent (contrary to popular belief).

Harsh on Jong. He was back to his best on the weekend IMO.
Wouldn't say his best Pann. Was vastly improved though.

Go back and watch the first quarter again. We had a superb passage of play building with loose men everywhere, and Jong received the handball 60m out, spun around, fell over and then threw the ball to the Giants.

The other passage worth noting was his burst along the boundary line in the right forward pocket when he just dribbled the ball across the face, without having a shot, or centring the ball to give someone else a chance.

He's an exciting prospect, but is still super clumsy at times.

Both are fair, but I can cite the time in the 3rd when there was back and forth between the 2 mid fields and then he got it, burst clear and kicked it to Wallis or Minson and it resulted in a goal. His speed was so apparently missing the last 2 weeks but he was sprinting again. I thought he was good :)

In any case, if Bonti and Picken are out this week, there's no way we will drop Jong as well. Stringer and Crameri won't be filling those boys shoes, and Jong will be needed in the middle with those outs. Could Biggs or Webb have a run through the middle? Is it possible McLean will get a chance? Every time we lose a mid I tend to think to myself "Now we surely don't have the depth to cover this, do we?"and I am consistently surprised by what we do with the players we have. With Bonts and Picko out though, I wonder if this is the week when we have lost too many?

Time to pull a freo
Send the seconds to play
Give the side a good 2 weeks off
And then fresh win the next 3
8 and 5 baby
a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush
smash freo

out: dale in: crameri (if avail,) or mclean
out: biggs in: stringer
out: bont (if injured) in: Talia (start him at CHF - throw the cat amongst the pigeons for 20mins)

Like the idea but not sure Talia has seen the forward fifty in the last 3/4 years, wouldn't disagree with throwing Roberts forward

Must admit I'm pretty bloody confident this week. We have been building these last few weeks. Can sometimes put in a shocker (and honestly I wouldn't be that surprised if we didn't come out to play, were hard to pick, but I'd be disappointed) but they seem to be the week after we've put everything into a hard fought loss/close win. We cruised for over a half last game and we should be a much stronger team in. Go all out before the bye, this game is a huge opportunity to be sitting well for finals. Port havent even been that good either. Look we will know within the first quarter if we've come to play but if we do, I'm tipping a hard fought but frightening 20 point win.

I think Grant comes under pressure becuase of the players to come in rather than his form. I hope he retain his spot. He was really good for us. Could have had more goals as well!

Grant is our secret weapon
He is Unmatchable - too quick for talls, too tall for quicks
It is just hard to know if he will put in a full effort or coast on any particular day
It's a contract year so he will be motivated to reproduce that match winning late 2013 form.

I just think structurally Grants really important, he can do a bit of a job on the oppositions speedster and he's a key part of the zone. His tricky hands set up our runs very often and then he's been really damaging in the air when he goes forward with a mismatch, definitely needs to take his chances in front of goal though.

I don't think he's far off having a 20 disposal/2 or 3 goal game when it just really clicks for him.

Grant is being overrated here imo. He was useless for the first 3 quarters of the GWS game, and only started showing up when the game was already over.

He'll probably play this weekend because he's only just back in the team, but I don't think he's a best 22 player at all. Too inconsistent, and we have a plethora of goalscorers in the side now.

With a couple under injury clouds suggesting the Outs is difficult. Going on the information available:
In: Crameri, Stringer - these 2 are under some pressure to add consistency to their games and impact the forward setup
Out: Bonts, Picken (both injured)

Does anybody know what's happened to Honeychurch, not listed on website as injured but not in any discussions re availability? Lack of information provided by club on him!

His chase down and pressure on a Shiel kick, which lead to a Wood intercept mark was fantastic and in the third quarter, and as GWS were mounting a bit of a comeback.

Grant's best is best 22 all day, he had been working hard in the 2's playing great footy. As mentioned it is a contract year for him, so the coaching staff need to see what he's about in the firsts to work out what direction they go with him.
