I would add to this my post game reaction which is a 20 minute walk to the car and a half hour drive home with my 14 year old son.

If we have lost:

7 stages of grief - shock and disbelief, denial, guilt, anger and bargaining, depression loneliness reflection, reconstruction and working through, acceptance. By the time I get home to face the missus (pies fan but sympathetic to our cause) I am usually ok and can calmly discuss the game.

If we have won:

Nirvana. We are going to win the next 4 premierships. Sadly this usually wears off by the time I get home too.

Nothing wrong with easing the leakage and forcing them to go around the cape plus English needs to kick goals
as he is a liability against the good rucks at this stage of his development. Gardner, English and Schache the new
triangle of terror, get the pieces on the chess board and then you can move them around.

The kids only 20, he won’t be looking elsewhere.
But if he was, I wouldn’t want him at the club anyway. Any player three years in to their time, giving up because they haven’t found a spot in the team isn’t what we want at the club.
That’s the kind of petty behaviour you see at local level with fringe 1’s players. Not at AFL level when your career has just started.
