Swan is the better kick of the football.

Judd's strong overhead marking, great defensive work and excellent goal kicking is probably what keeps the comparison close.

As of Round 16, Swan is listed with 65 tackles to Judd's 97 (using pro-stats.com.au)

More importantly though:

Contested possessions
Swan: 58 of 536 (10.8%)
Judd: 90 of 445 (20.2%)

Clearances:
Swan: 84
Judd: 129

Anyone can cherry pick stats to make one player look better than another, for example, Daniel Rich has made 81 tackles to Swan's 65, has done 78 long kicks to Swan's 60 and 16.5% of his possessions are contested over Swan's 10.8%.

Pro stats are completely different to Champion Data or whatever the Herald Sun use...because they quite simply aren't even close to what is published in the paper!

I used them purely because of that contested possession stat, which I think is much more important. Especially seeing as you listed contested marks (basically irrelevant to midfielders) and overall marks (which only went to show that Swan is on the receiving end of a lot of short passes).

They're not the most reliable, but like I said, it isn't hard to take stats and manipulate them to your own end.

How much $$$ is Swan costing us per year?

Triple M said tonight that Dane Swan is number 1 in the competition for score assists.
