We just need to make sure we draft "best available" - not we "need this type of prototype footballer" that has gotten us into trouble in the past. Get the best available and leave it at that.

I think taking the best available player has left us with an unblanced list and unless the best available player is miles ahead of the best available midfielder we need to take a mid with our first pick.

It would be crazy for us to take a key forward early in the draft with Pavlich, Tarrant, Campbell, Murphy , Drum and Mourish already jostling for 2 or 3 spots in the 22. We also have a surplus of players whoare best suited to half back but aren't very accountable.

We need midfielders, a fullback, and if Warnock leaves, a ruckman.

Is there a chance that Rich could slide? Recruiting is all about upside and they all want athletes around the 190cm mark. Take Rhys Palmer as an example, was the best player at the Under 18's and consistently got 20+ possessions for East Freo seniors after the carnival, but slipped to pick 7.

Depending on his form at and after the Under 18's carnival, and the performances of others, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go at pick 4 or 5. I guess a lot will depend on where the eagles finish.

No chance of him sliding IMO.

At the most he will slide to pick 2. In terms of potential, Rich has those same attributes that saw the likes of Headland, Cooney, Goodard, and Gibbs taken at pick 1. Whilst some of those haven't been as good as one would have hoped, it shows that history is on Rich's side to go first.

Thats not true. Apart from his kicking he's just a nuggety midfielder.

He doesn't have height or blistering pace. Its elite kicking that sets him apart.
