Former AFL coach Dani Laidley, who was previously known as Dean, will have a drug charge against her dismissed if she writes a letter of thanks to police.

The premiership player and former North Melbourne coach was found in possession of methamphetamine when arrested on unrelated matters in May this year.

She was on bail for separate charges at the time.

When they refer to laidley in the present - they are using the female pronoun.

When they refer to Laidley in the past - they refer to the male pronoun that Laidley identified at the time.
