Cal Twomey just said that Nak Cockatoo has been flown to the Gold Coast. Some late mail that he will be taken at pick 10.

If we had pick 10 I'd be very happy pulling the trigger and using it on Cockatoo.

At pick 5 though given his lack of exposure it's probably to much of a risk for us.

Meh the only thing wrong with the acadamies is that they aren't open to every club! I think they're great for the game, but limiting them to the Northern clubs is a croc of shit.

Agreed. I have no problems with academy but AFL is bank-rolling them anyway so why make them the preserve of 4 teams? AFL funded northern academies but everyone gets a crack at them. AFL taking the piss and doing everything to appeal to northern states.

Skinny but played much of the year even on the ball in the WAFL and showed to an extent anyway that he could win some of his own ball. Boekhorst given he wasn't invited to the draft combine I don't have his official measurements, he is definitely on the thin side but he should given he played some on the ball be ok at the next level.

Yep.

Let the AFL run them, rather then the AFL partially fund other clubs to run them and also giving them drafting rights.

Keep the academies, have the AFL pay some staff to run them and have them open to all for drafting. Those northern clubs will have the same supposed go home factor on these kids as all other states draftees.
