AFL Club
Essendon
According to Jon Ralph of the Herald Sun, he reported on the 5th Quarter tonight that Essendon would offer Rischitelli a 2 year deal worth $380,000 a year.

Just hoping to get your thoughts on the matter.

Prefer him to stay but it's not like he's been puting in good performances consistently. I wouldn't be overly disappointed if he left.

We knew this.

My thoughts - i'm still seeing the bitterness of Essendon and Collingwood supporters r.e. the retention allowance yet nearly every player of ours out of contract will be targeted by the Melbourne clubs again this year.

Lethal was right last year - almost every Melbourne club targetted a different out-of-contract Lion last year to try and shake them from the tree.

He has improved a bit this year but he has been pretty inconsistent for mine and is one of the main offenders when it comes to poor disposal. For some reason he escapes criticism a lot on here.

That being said I would like to keep him as we are desparately short of in and unders and as mentioned he has continued to improve.

He has been better this year but is still a long way from being an A Grade player. Wouldn't have thought he was worth $380 000.

$380k is quite substantial for a player that in blocks of four weeks is average in two of them, just above average in one and quite decent in the other.

If he can get that amount at Essendon I'm sure he'd consider, even if he has said he wants to stay in Brisbane.

If I was him, I'd be staying put - signing a two year contract and busting my gut next year to show that I am the primary midfielder for this club in the coming years. Then when it comes to renegotiating during the 2nd year I'm able to ask for more than the $380k Essendon have tabled for three years.

Quick figures and they probably dont mean much really but $1.1mil over 3 years at Essendon or $500k a season at Brisbane for the next 2 years then demand $425k for the following 3 seasons - thats more or less double Essendons offer and over 5 years which would be ideal for him.

Of course I'm not Rischa - if you offered me a pineaple and dared me to run to the letterbox naked I'd take it - thats my equivalent of $380k.

Apart from Razzle Dazzle and Adcock, he's the only semblance to a decent mid under 25, so I would imagine that he would be hard to prise off the Lions. He comes out of contract this year doesn't he? :thumbsd:

How's Travis Johnstone going, mate?

I'd love to get Rischitelli, and we can certainly afford to get him, with all of our big money players either on the veteran's list, or gone at the end of the year. I doubt he'd fall to us in the PSD unless we seriously front-ended his contract.

What would we have to give up for him?

We need ruckman, we'll start with Watson.

Look up the definition of poaching champ.

Taking a player from another club?

That's the only definition which fits Essendon recently.

Which young players have we taken from another club recently?

Or is he still cut up about Mal Michael? He's hardly stopped us from "developing our own" as Lions then Daylight said.

Anyway, what sort of value would you guys place on Rischitelli, assuming we were to trade for him?

EDIT: Just saw LtD's second post.

We're a bit short of ruckmen ourselves, so not much going there. Watson I doubt would want to leave, being an Essendon lad through and through. He's also one of the real leaders of the club. I rate Watson more highly than Rischitelli, but I'd say it's a pretty moot point anyway.

sorry Lions Then Daylight but it business before pleasure these days I'm afraid. It was a travesty that we were underpayed for Judd going home because situationally he held all the cards....

...tell you what tho, straight swap Adam Hunter for Rischitelli....and i'll even throw in a set of steak knives for you.

Look up the definition of poaching champ.

Poaching is the process of gently simmering food in liquid, generally water, stock or wine.
Poaching is particularly suitable for fragile food, such as eggs, poultry, fish and fruit, which might easily fall apart or dry out. For this reason, it is important to keep the heat low and to keep the poaching time to a bare minimum, which will also preserve the flavour of the food.
The poaching liquid is called court bouillon and a classical court bouillon consists of: an acid (wine, lemon juice), aromatic (bouquet garni), poaching liquid, and mirepoix. The liquid should be around 160-185°F (70-85°C), and always remember that to serve chicken safely it has to have reached a temperature of 165°F (74°C) in the core.
Poached eggs are generally cooked in water, fish in white wine, poultry in stock and fruit in red wine.
A perfect poached egg is an egg poached just to the point where the white is no longer runny and the yolk is beginning to harden around the edges.

Eh?

Here's a tip mate, quoting Wikipedia verbatim makes you look like a 12yr old! ;)

In response to the Eagles poster, we don't really need Hunter as our KPP stocks look to be in good stead.

Yes - the Lions should fight like hell to keep him - he is happy here
