Bosun, pretty much every weapon is available to pick up from killing rebels. Problem is they're usually all rusty and buggered, jam like a bastard and eventually blow up in your hands. My advice is to do a heap of weapon shop missions and just buy your own. The MAC10 is unlocked pretty early on and is an absolute beast of an smg, that you can carry in your pistol slot.

Prefer to keep that slot for my grenade launcher personally.

I've upgraded the arsenal since moving south. Still using the little ala terminator grenade launcher, but traded the PKM on a SAW, and the Dragunov on the cool as shit yank sniper.

Good times:thumbsu:

Buy it LLD, wont be disappointed

Thanks mate,

Ive only picked up a couple of pistols, a sniper rifle, an AK 47 and another machine gun from rebels, yet to see a MAC 10 or anything else. Do rebels start carrying them when you buy them?

Also are the weapons you buy only available in the building next to the weapons dealers? I thought they might be in safehouses but cant find them there.

Anyone found any decent weapons??, I have only done one weapons shop mission and it just unlocked a couple of pistols and a flare gun. Can you find RPG's, sub machine guns just lying around or do you have to purchase them?
I managed to find a GOLD AK-47, doesn't work any differently, but it sure does look cool.

Here is the location, it is with a diamond as well, so you can use your GPS to find it:

Nah i found a dropped MAC 10 before i bought one, its just pretty random what shows up. The weapons are generally in pretty bad shape but at least it gives you an opportunity to try before you buy. The MAC10 is definately worth the buy when you unlock it tho, believe me.

Weapons will only be available at safehouses when you buy weapons crates. Whatever you put in a weapon crate at the armory will then show up in your safe house crates:thumbsu:

The gold AK looks sweet, it also has a practical benefit in that it does not degrade like other guns. I have one stored, but don't really use it because i prefer a sniper.

Will be picking this up on Friday along with Fallout 3....but still have Dead Space to get through.

I'm not sure how I'm going to find the time to play all of these games :(

It's going to be a looooooooong weekend on the couch.

Damn, weapons crates?? armory (edit just realised what the armory was)?? Ive hardly scratched the surface of this game. I did a couple more weapons dealer missions last night and unlocked the MAC 10, flamethrower and a few others. Thought the best is the RPG.

For one of the weapons dealer missions where you intercept a convoy I tracked its path then parked a jeep in the middle of the road and went and hid behind a rock, when the convoy pulled up and slowed down, out came Mr RPG and kablamo!! Felt like one of those drug cartel mercs in the movie "clear and present danger".

Hahah, yep. That's awesome. I do a similar thing with my little grenade launcher. Take out the first vehicle to stop the convoy, then the rest are just sitting ducks.

I've done the old, park a car on the roadside and plant an IED on the bonnet. Wait for the truck to pass by, and BOOM.

Just like an iraqi insurgent.:D

Oh ****ing sweet you can get IED's?? This just gets better and better, another quick question do you buy the weapons crates from the weapons dealer? or from somwhere else, also do they have to be unlocked?

You buy IED's and weapons crates from the gun shop.

You can buy a primary, secondary, and a special weapons crate at the gun store. Once bought they become available in the armoury (the building next door to the gun shop), and you can store any primary secondary or special weapon in them, and the guns in them then become available in the crates at your safehouses.

Make sense?

Yeah definately,

I just didnt see them on the shopping list before in the gun shop.

Had a very brief crack of multiplayer on the weekend, sorta focused on the campaign right now. Looks ok, i'm not sure i'd rate it up there with the top of the line shooters like COD4 or Halo3 however.

It works for sure, and it has some nice features. But initial impressions are its more in the category of say, rainbow 6 vegas.

Ok, but not great.

Certainly wasnt laggy or anything

There's no co-op, is there?

There's no co-op, is there?

Strangely no. It'd be a great game for it, especially with the assault trucks having a driver and a gunner location. Be awesome doing a co-op takedown of a stronghold.

Heh, must say i never get tired of the South African accents in this game.

Bit of far cry comedy on that, took my copy over to a mates place on the weekend so he could do a try before he buyed etc.

Anyway, he loved it, couldnt get enough of it, and on my suggestion sniped one of the Saffas in the legs so they'd let rip with the...

"ARRGH. He shot me! The Bawstard shot me!"

To which my mate replied with a grin

"Thats for breakin my TV bro!" ala Leo in Blood Diamond.

Pissed myself:D

Ive heard that you can shoot the rebels in the leg and when they go down their mates rush over to help them therefore allowing you to pick them off. I tried this last night however it never happened (they just hobbled away and their mates stayed in position).

Anyone else seen this?

Dunno mate. Maybe. Haven't played enough to be honest.

Yep, happens a fair bit mate. It just depends how badly they're hit. Sometimes they can hobble to cover, you'll even hear their mates asking if they can move to cover if you're close enough. In this instance i usually just pop em again before they go out of view, otherwise they can lay in the grass and pop you with a pistol as you run in. They're almost impossible to spot.

A hit in the lower gut usually drops them so they can't move, you'll hear em yell

"I dont think i can move!"

Then usually one or 2 guys will come to his rescue and put the guy on his back, allowing you to pop them both. Careful tho, they aren't dumb. Usually while you're waiting for the money shot another guy will flank you and blast you with a shotty

This is the sniper i'm carrying around now. Jeez it sounds good through the home theatre :D
I picked that up last night from a SafeHouse that Flora was in, boy it packs a punch, only thing is that I need the MAC 10 or an LMG to carry around as it isn't great for close combat.
Does multi include vehicles?
Yep every vehicle is available, from gliders to 4WD's, and they can all be included in created maps.

SO I hear there's some issues with repetitive missions, respawning guardposts that are annoying, enemies with seemingly xray vision, and a lack of any stealth?

Sounds like normal gamer community nitpicking. People always find something to moan about. If you changed those things you mention there it'd be a pretty lame game

1. Repetitive missions? Most missions involve going somewhere, killing someone, stealing something, blowing something up. But that's the basis for pretty much every mission in every shooter is it not?

The missions are varied in their objectives, sure you always have to obviously kill some guys to achieve that. Its a shooter...what do people expect?

2. Respawing guardposts. Unsurprisingly, if you clean out a guardpost in a far flung corner of the map, leave to do another mission, then come back to that post a day later in Far Cry time, yeah, you'll find its been repopulated with guards. The posts are usually guarding critical intersections/bridges so its not much of a stretch to believe the warlords would ensure they aren't left unattended.

Clean it out and hang around, it'll stay unpopulated. I've cleaned one out, blown up all the vehicles and retired to a nearby safehouse for a kip. Then woken up at dawn, driven down to the guardpost and all the destruction from the night before is still there, smoking vehicle shells, dead bodies, the whole kit. You have to leave the area for a decent amount of time for it to respawn

If guardposts remained unstocked with enemies after you cleaned them out once, there'd be a lot of driving around with not much to do.

3. Guards with xray vision and lack of stealth is bullshit frankly. It all depends on how you play the game and the upgrades you buy. Buy the camo suit, a dart gun, and a silenced pistol and its possible to take down an objective without the enemy firing a shot.

Run into a area populated with enemies without causing a diversion, and they'll see you and shoot you. Sounds like some people don't really know what stealth is.

Seriously, buy it. Its a great game. I'm still totally sucked in by it.

Yeah the fact you can set water buffalo on fire with a molotov means I will be getting it. Cheers.
