Re: Footy Jumpers Buy Swap Sell

Surely there's interest

Honest question. Has anyone sold a jumper from this thread?

I think there's a couple of issues here. I would probably suggest that if you are selling a jumper, it's best to include a front and back picture of the actual jumper, instead of pictures from Mero's site. I'd also get in touch with the Hawthorn board's mods to see if and where you can put a post about selling the jumper, as I'd be shocked if you got no interest there. Personally, I just stumbled upon this board as I am in no way, shape or form a graphic designer. I do like talking about different guernsey designs and I am a collector, but i'm just crap at graphics. There's probably heaps like me on Big Footy who just haven't found this board, but if they see something about jumpers for sale on their own board, they'll snap it up.

Secondly, I'll use the Luke Power PI as an example. I'm kind of interested in it (i've just won an eBay auction for that jumper in a replica though, so probably less interested than I would have been two weeks ago). I think what this thread is lacking is a bit of urgency. For example, to be honest, if I was selling one of the jumpers from my collection, I'd be selling it to make money. Therefore, you guys might get three days, before it went up on eBay. With the way it currently works, without a time limit, it's too easy to put them on the backburner, in favour of other guernseys for which there is a specific time limit.

To me, I think the process is always going work better going the other way - people letting us know of any specific jumpers that they are interested in, which we can then give you a PM head's up for, if we see it on eBay, AFL Auctions, or whatever.

Re: Footy Jumpers Buy Swap Sell

Firstly.
I'm the first to chuck up a real picture for items and generally put across an accurate and clear description of what stuff is. On he or on eBay.
Admittedly, I hate seeing an eBay auction for example with a stock standard west coast team store photo of a home jumper for example. Take a photo and show us that the item is real and what you are selling.
The one time I have computer difficulties, I get pulled up on it as I can't wait to have my comp completely fixed to post a picture of one that already shows what it is. So I have gone against my rule as a one off and have copped it for it.
I only try to provide a service of helping others. And I would have have alternate sources to sell it, but I thought I'd try here with the folk of big footy first. Those who don't frequent this thread, well,it's theier loss.

That said.
Point two is I had three PM's for the jumper and subsequently sold it yesterday.
And before I get pelted pillar to post for trying to be an exploitation artist. Sold it for well below what I have been told I could get for it. As, it's not all about the money and I enjoy helping people. He got what he wanted. I got some money back. Win win.

Up to the discretion of person I sold to to choose to show or not, once it's there's, good luck with them. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Re: Footy Jumpers Buy Swap Sell

Hey, I need help...

I emailed North Kangaroos Merchandise Shop, asking about the sizes for the guernseys that are currently bidded in the auction. I'm thinking of buying it but most are medium. They emailed me back with the sizes:

Guernsey size

Guernsey sizes S M L XL 2XL 3XL 4XL 5XL 7XL
Chest cm - AUS 50 52 54 56 58 60 62 66 68

I'm from the United States, so obviously I'm a little confused. The auctions ends on February 10th, so I need to make a decision quickly... anyone can explain it to me, because I usually wear a L or XL shirt, but I'm not sure what that translates to Australian sizes.

Whoa...chill, Cam. Just offering some possible reasons, of why things may not be selling on this thread (it would be great to see the original posts being edited, or quoted and the poster letting us know it has been sold, even just as a guide as to how effective this thread is) and some possible alternatives if the sellers are keen to get rid of them quickly. You've even said that if the shoe was on the other foot, you'd rather see a real picture than a generic one. I hardly think you have 'copped it' from me. Congrats on the sale.

Well, measure you're chest and then choose the size it matches up to.

Re: Footy Jumpers Buy Swap Sell

i think someone here was selling the ford 85 year jumper a while back

Yeah, I've missed out a couple of times. I assume it was the same bloke who was selling one on the Geelong board. I took a few days to respond and it was gone. Confident one will pop up on eBay at some stage, but if the others which have been up are anything to go by, I'll definitely be paying for it. From what I hear, the replicas now go for more than the lesser known PIs were going for originally on AFL Auctions...
