They over ran us in the end but f@ck me the umpires are a bloody disgrace! Gave us nothing in that final quarter!

I'm not one to have a whinge about umpires anywhere (we got an armchair ride against Freo) but fmd, we're battling to hang on and the Eagles surge it forward from the middle and should have been called for 3 frees against in about 3 metres / 2 seconds, but nothing.

Eagles goal.

Sav and Blitz can piss off too.

Esava deserves all the criticism being directed at him. A couple of awful errors that resulted in goals. Just doesn’t do enough. What about Blicavs (167 games), Kolodjashnij (99 games), Rohan (134 games) and Guthrie (170 games), though? They sh*t the bed every single time the pressure comes on. Every single time. Bews (91 games), is another although his problem is that he continues to be anonymous week in, week out.

Unfair. I felt Rohan's 3 possessions were telling.

I'd pick one of Kolo or Henry to persist with and replace the other. Neither can kick and both can be suspect defensively. Someone with a bit more attacking instinct would help back there immensely.
Totally agree about Kolo, his disposal is woeful.

Don’t think we have that player though. Maybe an area to trade for then

Sav needs to be dropped for that performance. It’s not good enough. Possibly cost us the game.

But bloody hell we have some guys that consistently choke. Blicavs, Henry and Kolo.
Dangerfield needs to get his head out if his arse and pick up a player - when their ruck is flogging ours it’s just not good enough.

We both know it's never going to happen. And he's beyond criticism.

Remember, it's all about HIM winning a premiership. It's not like he plays a team sport or anything.

Will someone tell this chick and Sarah did the same thing - deliver your words in straightforward sentence: not drive a truck between each word: trust me, it’s a sign of an attention seeking narcissist, male or female!

Great response to a serious footballing challenge - and that could so easily have gone the other way. Bloody frustrating in the end.

It is absolutely f’in maddening to listen to Brayshaw and McLachlan barrack West Coast home from half time to the end. Every single comment was in reference to WCE and their comeback. Screw those ars*holes

How he has won two Carji's can be blamed soley on Scarlett.

Scarlo is a great of this club but must be shown the door. Our defence is lacking run, is far too tall and is unbalanced and poor under pressure. Yet they persist with the same structure. Watch Zac Guthrie play next week. Another slow, indecisive plodder.

Also, teams with poor ruck socks have won plenty of flags ... it's the positioning of our midfielders that let's us down and that's all on our midfield coach. It's been a problem for years and nobody can see it.

You're forgetting the most important thing though. They're the Misfits. They've got their own nickname - mentioned again in commentary tonight. That's what matters.

Since when? I thought he was amazingly versatile?

He got manhandled effortlessly by Natanui and then got outmarked far too easily by Kennedy. That's a fail in both spots.

He panics under pressure. That goal to Darling was a direct result of his horrible panicked kick off the left foot (it's somewhat of a trademark).

The media conflate simply playing lots of roles with actually being good at those roles. Imo the criteria for being classified as a high quality utility player should be that you're legitimately good value in multiple positions eg Pavlich or Goodes or even, to a lesser extent, someone like James Kelly, who was a great midfielder but also played some fantastic footy for a while in the back pocket. Merely playing multiple positions shouldn't be enough to qualify.

The only position Blicavs has ever been legitimately above-average relative to others in the competition is as as KPD.

I'd say legitimately competent (yes as a key defender, no anywhere else) but just warning you the attacks are coming.

The bigger problem is, in any position, he falls to pieces under pressure.

True. But he was abysmal at times tonight and it's not unreasonable at all for him to be dropped.

Also, for the amount of opportunities he has been given, he's got to start doing more.
He was abymssal with a couple of disposals. thats it. The rest of his game was pretty solid. If he has disposals like that 8 weeks in a row then we can worry although it never caused blicavs to get dropped back when he did it in his last season as a mid/space blocker.

Credit to Henderson tonight... still got it. Lot of criticism of his selection but geez you watch kolo and Henry And you get why he's in the team.

Yep - agreed - wasn't a believer and I don't think he and Taylor can be in the same backline every week, but against tall forward lines - yep.

I think David the Cat gave Kolodjashnij a whack on this board a couple of weeks ago and I gotta admit I am starting to see things his way - I thought Kolo actually ended 2019 reasonably well, but he has been bog ordinary this year.

I agree that he and Jack Henry essentially fill the same need.
Perhaps only the impending retirement of Harry would allow both Henry and Kolo to play in the same team moving forward, but if I was the hangman then it'd be Kolo saying his last words.
Henry is a lot more athletic, even though I give Kolodjashnij a slight edge in aerial judgement and the cleanness of his marking when he is in-form.
Kolo's kick is also more penetrating; he is actually a good 'fast' kick; he just has no capacity to sum up opportunities to use that skill.
Henry is a lot more agile, better tank, can run all day; good enough overhead to be a solid defender. Not a particularly creative or penetrating kick. Hands are fine for a player of his size in that he doesn't fumble too often and can get off a quick handball in traffic.
I gotta admit I pin some hope on Jack Henry filling a key defensive role in the very near future; I do have some doubt as to whether he can do it at a really high level, but there have been some good signs.
