Grand Final supporter pressure

What sort of pressure will the umpires be under with a pro-Richmond crowd?

GWS had more frees than Richmond when it was 90k Tigers, 1k Giants, 4k neutrals.

I doubt it'll have much impact.

Losing a grand final is the worst feeling in the world. It's like a part of you dies and you know you'll never get it back again. Especially when you know you might not get back there for another 20 years or more.

I didn't feel much in 2000. Essendon wins that 100 times out of 100. Went it knowing we'd lose, and we did. I call it Melbourne Football Club Supporter Syndrome.

Its ok to lose a grand final, someone has to lose one every year. Geelong have lost heaps of grand finals and prelims under my watch. You get used to it and move on.

If you can't enjoy your football when your team is strong and one of the best two sides of the year then whats the point of following football at all. Fact is your not going to win premierships often, take what joy you can.

Every cloud has its silver linings. Being a middle aged ( might as well face facts ) Richmond fan means that the decades of "Richmondness" have made me virtually immune to disappointment.

It is marvellous to have us in the GF but to an extent our GF was against Geelong because we simply HAD to win a finals game.

Now of course it will be disappointing if we lose but at least we'll still be Vic top dogs and the finals hex would be gone.

This time last year the Dogs had won 3 more finals games than I'd initially expected after finishing 7th. Feelings of excitement completely drowned out the anxiety. I was quite calm until the GF started. Then 2&1/2 hours of riding the emotional roller-coaster until the game was sealed!

I'd like to think a GF loss is easier to cope with after having seen a win, but won't know until it happens...

I can't even remember seeing the game... have mental images but the emotions... I think it was probably so emotional it overrode any storage. Can't remember if I felt we were closing to snatching it or if I was angry at us, but I remember walking home and having a feeling of 'well Ross Lyon is a good coach, another year into Sutcliffe and Sheridan...'

How things change.

Still, special memory.

That night I went out with some girl and she drank some red coloured cider and she kept having a go when I kept asking what it was. Then she left at 5am because she didn't want to sleep on a couch. Realised a few weeks later she'd deleted me off facebook. Weird.

Didn't expect to make the 8

Didn't expect to beat Geelong

Didn't expect to beat GWS

Don't expect to beat Adelaide.

Totally relaxed. It's all a bonus.
