The QLD premier made up lies about AstraZenica that likely contributed to vaccine hesitancy.

It was Morrison's late night press conference that stuffed AZ rollout. QLD has followed ATAGI advice.

Anyways, no lockdown here. Whatever they are doing, it's working.

"Premier Daniel Andrews said on Wednesday Victoria Police had judged it was "simply not feasible" to fine or arrest demonstrators for breaching coronavirus restrictions, "particularly given there may be many thousands of people at this protest".
for this recent protest or for BLM (wednesday isn't specifically helpful)

My worksite was listed as Tier 2 last night and have had DHHS frantically trying to contact me…this affects upwards of 40 people because one person from the western suburbs came in, whilst symptomatic, then didn’t check in, gave wrong information and then dropped his mask whilst in our office. You just want to slap the funny out of these campaigners.

Now we could conceivably have 40 staff isolating.

So all of Regional Victoria is now subject to the hard lockdown because of the 'Shepparton cluster'. There seems to be one confirmed case in Shepparton, and an additional 16 cases using rapid PCR testing.
The rapid Antigen tests are then confirmed with the usual test. Rapid Antigen positives aren't included until they are confirmed. It's just another tool to help get ahead of it. Think of it like Blowing over .05 on the Breathalyzer and then it being confirmed by the better test in the booze bus.

Vic police not mincing words about yesterday’s protests

"What we saw yesterday ... was probably one of the most violent protests we've seen in nearly 20 years," he told reporters on Sunday.

He said many in the crowd came armed with projectiles that were hurled at police and it was clear they were there not to protest for personal freedom but to "confront and attack".

Eight of the nine wounded officers have since left hospital but one remains for further examination. Injuries included blows to the body, cuts, bruises, suspected broken noses, one possible incident of loss of consciousness, and one leg injury.

"It appears to us that they came in with an intention of that violence," Mr Patton said.

"This wasn't a group that had a specific leader. It seemed that it was angry men ... between 25 and 40," he said, "who were intent on causing this mayhem, intent on being involved in this criminal activity”

Yep those that organised yesterday are done for.

Never said it's all we need. It's hugely important though considering at least 5 million people aren't going to be vaxxed when we open up.

and thats why literally yesterday I said we have to include kids in our vaccination plans and numbers

Imagine rocking up to a protest with weapons and projectiles but try and claim the intention was to be peaceful

tier 2 isnt too bad - its only until you get your negative off memory

It's such a weird take to say we should be grateful that we're not in Kabul. Remember that next time you want equality for minority groups or it's time for your EBA negotiation.

Be happy with crumbs because you're not in Kabul.
"At least you can protest here without being shot" Scotty from Marketing, Prime Minister of Australia

only 12 of the new cases in iso

fork
That stat is fairly meaningless as there is no nuance to it. There is no way anyone that is a contact or been to an exposure site of a mystery case could have been in Iso for the full duration. What's more important is were they in isolation after knowing they should be.

you are right that it is important (to isolate after being told) - but the cases detected while isolating means contact tracing is winning (getting to contacts and contacts of contacts before they spread further)
