25 plays 23 at half time. Nice conditions here - not to much dew on the grass & heat gas gone out of the day + no humidity.
SOKS & retry trying hard but the whole games looks a little sloppy. Orange maggots red hot on the whistle.

Sounds like Polec will be a gem, kicked some important goals. I can see why we wouldn't rush him in round 1, and instead take some time to coach him a bit, fix his defensive side. If he can tighten that up, he is going to be a game breaker. Would get found out in a big way at AFL level defensively though by the sounds of it.

Some quicks thoughts:
-Was slightly scrappy game - the kookaburra near me got more clean posession than anyone on the ground
-Lack of a dedicated ruck was hurting us after Bart went down (looked suscpisciouly like a quad
-Polec will be good. How good is dependant on how hard he works on his game. Undeniable talent who kicked us back into the game
-I heard SOKS talking at the 3/4 time huddle. Talks like a team leader (which in fairness he should be in the seconds)
-Green, Harwood, SOKS had good games but their kicking lets them down. Green is where the ball falls which is almost an unteachable trait.
-Hawskley looks destined for a decent stint in the twos. Fairly unconvincing.
-Niall coming along well
-Not sure where Acorn is at. Undeniably they're trying to teach him to work hard, but I think he's going to get lost.
-Richie Newell shows a bit. Might be one who gets through to the rookie list. Faded in and out though.
-Retzy is a hard worker - if he gets some good delivery... watch out.
-I can never find Mr Ripper at footy game - he must be a chameleon. And there was probably 250 people at the ground (100 of those in the clubhouse!).

Thanks for all the updates guys, was following on twitter, great to know how the boys are going.
Can someone in th know clarify Newll's status. I understand he is a NSW scholarship player, but is he eligible to play reserves all year as a reserves player without actually being a rookie, ala Donald Barry, whom I almost consider being a rookie without ever being able to be promoted?
And whatever happened to Steve O'Connor, James Brain, Jack Lawson? Did their scholarships essentially expire?
