well i am usually positive about the eagles but am abit concerned with our absence of
Natanui, Kerr.
Natanui changes our whole team , just with his presence.

The game against Collingwood highlighted the power of having guys Pendelbury and Swan who can get the ball and split the opposition with abit of swerving or dodging. THEY PUT THEIR STAMP ON THE GAME ESPECIALLY IN CLOSE congestion.

When Natanui does those things our players pick up the vibe abit more.
I thought we would lose the game even with our ins like Cox, for this reason.

Therefore I am generally worried whether we can win our first 2 games.
If we lose we will struggle to make the 8 with Natanui still not able to play.

Scooter has improved heaps to be pretty good in close but still he doesnt do Swan things like create space and time just after winning the close in ball.

If all our side was fit then I would not worry but the game against Collingwood highlighted for me chance that we might lack players that can do what i am trying to explain.

There is no one to generate that mindset for the team of swerving, dodging and all that, with Natanui and Kerr not playing.

Making the 8 is no certainty as far as i am concerned at the moment with real important players out

EDIT I should point out that if our best side is playing we can beat anyone.
iTs just that Natanui could be out for weeks

Agreed. The mindset of swerving and dodging and all that is important.

Worried about winning our first two games! Why because we lost a scratch match? Did freo not get smashed by Carlton and have the Hawks even won a game this year? Weak post.

I don't not doubt it.

Heavy work loads on the players last week took its toll on all players (I hope), so we may see more swerving or dodging this week, and hopefully the players can create their own vibe and not rely on the Dennis Denuto abilities of NicNat alone.

Well we're officially boned if Go Eagles has lost faith in this season
I could be wrong though, you see.

if we can beat Fremantle who are without Sandilands then we can scrape through and then play with Natanui back later on.
Fremantle struggle without Sandilands its not funny. But will have Pavlich and their home crowd so they are pscycologically ahead. We probrably wont have Natanui and Kerr available

N0tice Fremantle
fall apart without Sandilands and Pavlich together. like they did agaisnt Carlton on the weekend.

Our full team can beat anyone but it is a vibe thing which makes everyone switched on or not.

He's right though. Without Kerr and NN we seriously lack inside mid poise and the ability to split packs. Scooter and Shuey have the ability, but their ball handling is still too fumbly under pressure, and their first reaction is more often than not to bang it on the boot.

Priddis thinks he can, but gets tackled far too often, Masten still isn't strong enough.

Too early to tell though, whether or not our midfield can make the jump necessary to win the big games.

You've forgotten the last derby where Sandi didn't play then? Griffin rucked that day...and I seem to recall pav did ok.

4 of our best 22 (NN, Kerr, Waters, Wellers) either absent or *very* underdone for at least the first couple of matches. I'm worried too.

The prophet has spoken. We will miss the 8.
I didnt say we would definately miss the 8.

I said that we could struggle in early matches because of missing players and then find ourselves amongst the 7th-12th teams and the longer we go without these players the more difficult it will be to get in.

its never a given to make the 8,nor should it be but i think the lemming qualities of some people have come out quite quick here.If this was a top 2 or 4 thread then maybe but missing the 8 because natanui and kerr may miss the first 2 games is a bit of a stretch. We went ok last year with a few stars missing for long stretches.
take a deep breathe everyone
