Can't believe the amount of pig people who are too lazy or drug farked to put their rubbish into a bin a few metres away.
St.Pauls Cathedral was covered in kfc and maccas wrappers the other night with a bin close by.

People who have no respect for Australia.

Pig people.

Apologies to the real animal who would be more tidy.

NO self respecting bin would allow shit like KFC in it.
Think of the bins!!!

usually go to melbourne once every year for a footy trip, this year going for a boys long weekend away for the anzac round, 4 games in 4 days:). love the vibe of the place and haven't noticed it to be any worse than brisbane, and it's better than sydney which i went to for the asian cup final a few years ago.

When I first went to Melbourne the first thing I noticed is how filthy it is. Graffiti and homeless people everywhere. It just has a dumpy vibe to it.
George Street and Macleay Streets in Sydney are by a furlong straight the dirtiest streets I've seen in Australia. In comparison to overseas cities, Australian cities are very clean. You also haven't seen a homeless problem unless you've been to US cities, Washington in particular.

Also, how is Graffiti dirty? FFS talk about pushing old washed up agendas.

People in Australia complaining about dirty cities; I've heard it all. Far more dirtier cities on every other continent in the world.

so who deals with it all? who complains and who picks it up?

there is a quid in it for someone but no one's grasping at dirty straws.

It isn't just my glorious city but all over that this is shitting on the population.

someone ought to ride a wave and take notice.

There are many tattooed people in Melbourne.
I know , shocking isn't it. I hate them. especially on the shoulders and neck. sorry but it ain't my
favourite writing place.

can't see why the tatts is there for a start so it is a bit of a worry and you pay for it big time. shocking piece of work.

San Francisco and Portland are way worse.

Portland:
  • Tent cities
  • Enclaves on street corners
  • Mini junkyards everywhere
San Francisco:
  • So many homeless people with dogs that they don't pick up after
  • The streets in general are filthy
  • If you walk for 20 minutes you will go through like 10 blocks and every 2nd block will be dodgy.

Have you been outside of Australia? Not saying we're the best or that we can't always get better but we're a lot better than most places in this world.

How could that be, aren't these places supposed to be progressive paradises?

There is no such paradise, specially in US/Australia or majority of Europe. NYC is littered with garbage and sometimes the trash trucks dont come for days. (not in the tourist areas though)
Zurich, Stockholm and Oslo are the cleanest cities i have seen. Maybe Calgary too.

I went to Amsterdam in 2012 and saw how dirty the city was when the cleaners went on strike.

Cairo has been the foulest city I have been to.

Canberra is a very clean city, as is Perth, or was last time I was there.
Probably because of their planned nature to a large extent as there are no great "urban scars" that you find in the older cities.

Tokyo was near spotless, especially given it's one of the largest urban agglomerations in the world.

You can mock Perth and WA for a lot of things but I love how clean and unpolluted it is here, along with the weather.
