All fullbacks in teams that are around 6-10th place in my opinion, with young midfields and developing forwards and backs.

Jamison-24 years old, 193cm, 90kg, 57 games, 0 goals, picked up in the 2006 rookie draft, good underrated stopper

Grima-25 years old, 192cm, 93kg, 30 games, picked up in the 2007 rookie draft, probably more of a rebounder, gets a bit of the ball for a fullback

Carlile-23 (almost 24) years old, 192cm, 98kg, 75 games so bit more experience then the other 2, 4 goals, #44 in 2005 national draft, good honest defender, marks well, would consider him a close player in style to Jamison then Grima.

So, question is, who would you take if you had to pick 1, right now (as in, not considering injuries but going mostly off last years form).

Carlisle is a beauty.
I think he will be AA contention soon enough.

Not a bad poll at all. Always been a big fan of Grima from watching him pluck seemingly impossible marks while he was still in Tassie. Jamison is a better full back than him and has shown a lot of promise but needs to step it up a notch from last season, was in great form in the pre-season until he got suspended. I think you'd lean towards Carlile at the moment, pretty consistent performer.

Carlile's best is the best of the three, but he's turned into a fat lazy shit this year. I think he must've signed with GWS or something. Grima gets my vote until Carlile pulls his finger out of his arse.

As you can see from my sig- Jamison is a better fullback than Brian Lake.

I'd go Carlile from what i've seen although i haven't seen that much of Grima/Carlile. Jamison was hyped up for a while there, he's decent as a pure stopper but considering he has absolutely no rebounding ability at all, you have to be an amazing stopper to be a quality footballer ie Presti, he falls considerably short at the moment.

I chose Carlisle.
Jamison is a good stopper but that's about all he does.

I'd probably say Carlisle > Grima > Jamison.

All decent full backs and prime candidates for the type of player that's reputation gets over inflated as their team's move into premiership contention.

Really have no been impressed with Carlile tbh... when he first came onto the scene... I was wishing he had someone like him... but to me, last year and especially this year, he gets beaten way too often...

Jamison (even if one eyed) is clearly the better defender and rebounder out of the 3... 4/4 stellar games in 2011... putting on 6kg has done so much to his ability in 1 on 1 contests...

Carlile is playing in an infinatley shitter team. Getting barely any help from your surrounding players, especially from the mids and backs, makes anyone start to look ordinary.

Jamison is playing great footy, but I'd still take Carlile

Carlile is making himself look ordinary. You can't use teammates or delivery as an excuse when you're constantly getting outbodied and beaten in one-on-ones and can't even be bothered lifting your arms to make a spoil. If he'd given a shit two weeks ago GC would still be winless.

Odd that North fans are in here spruiking Carlile's stopping ability the week after he required a stick insect in Jasper Pittard to defend against Drew Petrie for him after being outpositioned 3 or 4 times in one game.

You might want to ask GordonBlue (oh sorry, that's you), he seemed to think it was only about Jamison and Carlile. But while we're at it, superior in what way?

Have you watched him at all this season? A vastly improved player now that he's gained some size (6 kgs heavier) and is injury free.

Excellent leader who's added an attacking edge to his game.

Leigh Matthews raved on about him on Friday night and the crew at TripleM proclaimed him AA full back at this early stage.

He's only played the 4 games and as such you might not have seen, but he's been brilliant all preseaon and now into the H&A.

Carlile has been hopeless the last couple of weeks. His efforts on the weekend were pathetic he wouldnt go in for the spoil but hang back and hope another Port defender would chip in and help him out. Just look at some of the Port threads he is being heavily targeted.

Jamison for mine ive seen all the Carlton games a part from the sydney one which ive heard he was one of their better players in. Hes been exceptional.

I hope Grima wasnt made to look good on the weekend by that rabble Port and rather he is finding some form. Its been a difficult year for him so far due to a poor preseason and injury.
Well see if he can follow up against a better oppostion in Geelong next week that will show where he is.
