St Kilda gave up 5 and 24 for Carlisle and 14 (Gresham)

Sydney swapped Bird & 14 for 23 & 44 to boost academy points

Win win win trade. Bird's just there as a salary dump and to sweeten things for the swans but also gives a mature body for the young bombers. I still think Francis will be the best of these players but Gresham looks a ripper too and Carlisle can play if he can get his head right.

Personally, I always liked Bird when he was at the Swans. Reliable, committed and the right attitude. A good man to influence a young team.
