We all know the answer to that .... sit on their hands do zip only put there hands out for $$$$$ and do things their way or no way !!
Seem to have plenty of time to find $100 fines on team sheets... can’t make a fixture that’s fair...

so no fixture change despite having the chance to make an even 14 game season, no top 5 and the top 4 remains, no crowds. put an asterisk on this season and move on.

What do the people who run this league actually do?
They had the chance to make an even draw at the beginning of the season, why would they do it now…?

if you think that two weeks of no home ground income, multiple breaks in the season, social rooms and event capacities continually reduced, unmotivated volunteers all off the back of a dry 2020 and reduced player payments (amongst many other factors of course) is just cause to “maybe“ consult, re-think and work with clubs to find a balanced solution would be plausible, you obviously haven’t worked along side our fine and driven operations staff at HQ… They have all the solutions towards these and many other club based strategies. Brilliant and sharp operators.

This week Mernda will play Reservoir for the 3rd time for the season yet have only face Lalor and Laurimar once.

South play WH for the 3rd time in 6 games also play Laurimar 3 times and only play Kilmore once.

Kilmore play Old Eltham and Mernda 3 times and play Laurimar and South Morang once

Laurimar play South Morang and Lalor 3 times and play Kilmore and Mernda once.

WH play South 3 times and Turtles once.

how the league hasn’t corrected this is an embarrassment upon reflection. No relegation in the higher grades yet this severely compromises the finals make up.

Tbh I think they should have just gone top 5 and started finals now. With no crowds/revenue do the sides who aren’t in contention even want to play?

Would have been an exciting way to finish the season.

Now we have a totally compromised draw with teams playing each other 3 times and others 1 time. They are worried about relegation unfairness but not about this.

They took the stance at the start and said the draw won’t be altered but then was after the first lockdown, now this one isn’t?

Yep and we still have the option for everyone to play each other 2 times but oh that’s too hard.

Im sure if they listened to what clubs asked for that this would have been fixed. But NO the powers that be do it their way or no way!! Disgraceful and full of their own importance. Get the biggest Broom you can find and sweep them out.

I’ve been involved in this league for a long long time and every time an easy sensible solution is offered the league go the opposite way. Always have.

Unfortunately what could be 100% fair season with 2 games against everyone has turned into the most compromised draw possible. There is no reason. We aren’t playing interstate with flights and hotels booked, clubs haven’t got game day functions booked and events. It’s just simply laziness

Im hearing you.

Interesting Kilmore haven’t beaten Laurimar or Morang this season, beat turtles by 9 points and also lost to them yet sit comfortably 3rd. They did however have 2 convincing wins v West.
In saying that, if they were to have played Morang and laurimar more times than once each throughout the season could they have been in a 3 way tustle with west and turtles for 3rd and 4th spots rather than sitting comfortably 3rd?

Or it may cost Kilmore the double chance.. laurimar & Sth morang both were to be played at Kilmore , so maybe they ‘lucked out ‘ not got LUCKY...

Nah they have gotten very lucky. Slap an asterisk on them for now. Staggering fixture, you must be involved with HQ to come up with that view.

time will tell I guess.. I think the top3 are the best 3 ...
don’t think they’ve played their best footy yet , I could be wrong , I think any of the top3 can win it this year & my view was the same from rd1 , it will all come down to who plays their best footy in the finals..

I’m still perplexed at why when you can easily have everyone play each other twice we have teams playing each other 3 times and others 1 time.

The league won’t relegate anyone but happy to compromise who may go up.
You could ask every president in the league what they think of this administration (and I do)…
“Perplexed” would be one of many adjectives used at this point.

Big clashes this week

Turtles v Power - Big game for both clubs. Expect both to have their best sides in. Turtles pushed Laurimar last time. Williamson kicking 9 in a huge day out. Expect it to be a right tussle similar to Kilmore. Turtles by 12 on their home Deck

Kilmore v Bloods - Must be hard motivating the troupe with 3 games left and a 2 week break. Kilmore by 150

South V West - West have everything to play for here. A win would have them almost certainly playing finals. Top spot up for grabs now so South will want to win this. South 40.

Mernda v Mustangs - Mernda easily. Should be looking at next year and playing the youth.

Round 12 and we are back to playing footy, some big games coming up and with the draw not changing the top 4 and double chance is all up for grabs.

Match of the day sees Old Eltham (7-4) take on Laurimar (9-2) it what is a massive game for both top 4 and double chance ramifications. The Turtles are a game clear plus 14% clear of Heidelberg West and with West playing Sth Morang, if they can get over the top of Laurimar they will move to 2 games clear with 2 games to play. The turtles have Laurimar, Sth Morang and Kilmore in their final 3 games, they need at least 1 win and for West to lose to Sth Morang to play finals footy in 2021 Both teams have good winning streaks going (Turtles 4 wins) and Power (5 wins). The three pronged forward line of Francis, Williamson and Cecil will cause headaches for the Turtles coaching staff and I can't see them getting the win in this one, Power by 22 points.

Lalor (1-10) take on Kilmore (8-3) at Sydney Cres and will look to try and take a top 4 scalp, the Bloods haven't tasted victory since May when they beat Reservoir. Kilmore will look to bounce back after their after the siren loss to the turtles in their last game. The Blues will be looking to take the double chance off Laurimar with a slightly easier fixture running into finals. Kilmore too strong and will win by 57 points

Sth Morang (10-1) take on Heidelberg West (6-5) which is a massive game for West, they just need to win all of their remaining games and will start favorites in their last 2 against Reservoir and Mernda, if they can get the Lions scalp, it will help them immensely in their charge to a final 4 spot, lose and finals are still alive it just becomes that bit harder. The Lions welcome back Colaidis and T Hall and they will look to bounce the Lions straight back into the winners list after their first defeat at the hands of Laurimar in their last game. Sth Morang too strong and will win by 36 points

Last game is deju vu with Mernda (3-8) taking on Reservoir (0-11) back at Mernda, last time it was a 151 point win to the Demons, the Mustangs will look to make this game more competitive and try and cause the upset and get that elusive first win. For Mernda, its another chance to get 4 points in what has been a very disappointing season for them. Mernda by 102 points.

Enjoy walking your dog over the weekend everyone.

4 out of 4

Turtles pushed the Power all the win but don’t get that all important 4 points they were after, need to win one of there last 2 games to make finals

The blues for the job done but unfortunately a bad injury to a Lalor player meant game ended early, best wishes to the Lalor player.

West pushed Sth Morang but the youthful legs of the Lions got them over the line.

And the demons got the job done over Resa.

So Turtles and West still have so much to play for, who gets the 4th spot?

And can the blues get over the power to secure the double chance?

Tight finish. If Turtles can win against South they could potentially fall to third spot if Kilmore and Laurimar can win their final 2.

West should be able to catch up the percentage difference easily this week. Mernda final round won’t be easy though.

If west can boost there percentage this week the pressure will be on turtles to win both there last 2 to be certain of a finals spot. Laurimar building at the right time for mine.

Its on the video. Not much in it just an unfortunate incident. Anyone have any news on the young fella?
Yes it was an unfortunate accident and it is extremely serious. The young fella is still in an induced coma and we are anxiously awaiting for him to wake up. I want to say that Kilmore as a club were absolutely amazing with their support and help on the day and in the days following. It certainly puts things in perspective with how it’s just a game. We as a club a putting our arms around our players who are devastated by the injury to a much loved teammate. We are also supporting the family to our best ability. I have been involved in footy for 50 years now and this is by far the worst feeling I have ever had. As a coach you love your boys and it’s excruciatingly painful to see one of your own hurt. He’s a tough kid and we are all looking forward to seeing him back around the club hopefully soon.
