Plenty of non Collingwood supporting posters on BigFooty talking him up too...

You might want to open your eyes up to what you fear to see...

Interesting that of all the threads about various players being considered as potential GOAT this is the only one that doesnt have a poll.
I think a poll would add to the thread.

Not sure how their voting works but to be only 20 points better than Perryman for the year ?
No one really knows how the Copeland voting system works. They give out a shit load of votes. There's this from the pies website where the maths doesn't really work:

Senior Coach Craig McRae, together with assistant coaches Hayden Skipworth, Scott Selwood and Jordan Roughead, award the votes after each match.

Each coach is asked to vote on every player. Each player can receive votes between 0-4 on the following four categories:

  • Pressure
  • Fight
  • Territory
  • Role/impact
The maximum number of votes a player can receive per round is 64 votes.

Oh no.

Apparently it's Darcy Cameron this week!

Everyone is interpreting Darcy Cameron winning the Copeland incorrectly. Cameron was ripped off. He was clearly better than Nick and should have won the Brownlow, but the maggots didn't give him a single ****ing vote. Pies getting fleeced again

So Daicos wasn’t even no.1

McCrae made a quip about being second best and lo and behold…

Rowell beat him in the Brownlow. In the coaches votes. In ratings. In B&F. But the players voted Daicos #1 and Rowell not in top-5..... it's almost like the players were influenced by what they hear in the meeeedddddyyyyaaaaa.
It’s possible. Most players don’t watch every match is my impression. So player award might be influenced to some extent by media.

Yeah.

The players who sit in team meetings week in, week out, and spend more time talking about their plan for Nick Daicos than they do for any other player in the comp.... don't know what they are talking about.
A new element to the thread is nice. I wasn’t aware that you sat in on players team meetings

He did win the BnF when Collingwood had a poor year in 2024. Next on his list are winning them in top 4, grand final or premiership sides. I just worry that the Pies might have their window close soon.
Collingwoods voting system is such that if you dont play all the games you basically cannot win the B and F. He was way in front in 23 before he got injured

I think people are taking you to task on it due to your outlandish appraise for him. If you’d toned it down and accepted he was a really promising player with a big future then there’d be no storm here on BF. Instead it’s become comical that he is being talked up as potentially the best ever by you lot.

Have you noticed it’s only Collingwood supporters talking about him like he is some sort of Demi god? He is no doubt great, but he is a protected species by the umpiring department, frothed over by the media, at best an excellent outside player, and nowhere near good enough to carry a midfield.

I mean for all the commentary in this thread you’d think he’d win a B&F at a minimum. He hasn’t even done that this year and his old man absolutely sooked up that both his boys didn’t get the finishes he thought they deserved.

It’s not the Daicos Magpies.

Nobody actually GAF about the stats mate, his little coaches awards or players awards mate, they mean nothing. Best and fairest awards are far more meaningful.

The club didn’t even rate him no.1

Absolutely cringeworthy what you and a few others have contributed here. Id be embarrassed.
its the Collingwood supporteres defending him from the trolls on this site lol The general AFL media rate him 1 or 2

In Martin's second year being 2011 he averaged 22 disposals and 1.5 goals per game. Here is the list of players from 2018-2025 that did that:

Isaac Heeney in 2025

Yep...that's it...1 x player in the last 8 years. Martin did it in a bottom team in his second year.
Nick was responsible for lifing his side from 17 to 4 to 1 in 3 years. not too shabby.

In his first 4-years Martin averaged 22.3 disposals and 1.05 goals per game...across a 4-year stretch.

In the single season of 2025, 22+ and 1+ was achieved by Heeney and Bontempelli....that's all.

In 2024: Bont, Heeney, Petracca, Warner

In 2023: Martin and Petracca

In 2022: Bont

In 2021: Bont, Petracca, Martin

In 2020: Martin

Naicos averages 29 and .66 across his first 4-years. 30% more disposals, 38% less goals.

Contested possession averages almost identical. So Nick certainly gets a lot more uncontested possessions.
He has played forward for about 1 percent of his career lol And defence for 40 to 50 percent
