It’s the same reason why as pure midfielders that Bontempelli and Neale are better than Daicos. Yeah, Daicos gets awards because he is the icing. His smooth, skilful and organised. Nobody denounces his strengths. He is a freak. You’re going to get awards that way. You’ll stand out. It’s obvious.

However he does not play solely as midfielder enough. He doesn’t do enough of the 1% efforts, his defensive effort is poor because that isn’t where the goals are, his tackling is sub par, and he isn’t winning contested ball at a good enough level. He has benefited from being a great outside player. He will struggle without Sidebottom and Pendlebury. Big time.

Every single AFL player has output. Output in a football sense is statistics attributed to a player or actions on a field defined by metrics.

You say he hasn’t had the same level of output. I am asking you to define the output in which is measurable by both Cripps and Daicos. Daicos produces X, Cripps produces Y. Once we establish what they have done you can then begin to measure them according to benchmarks.

Personally I think Cripps has it harder and is better as he can win contested ball, runs harder, gets to more contests, drives his team from a competitive sense, can kick goals and gets and has gotten attention from opposition for a long time yet continues to perform.

Cripps has had a 35% win loss record over his career. He is a decent workhorse at best

There are four standouts:

Carey, Ablett Sr, Lockett and Mathews.

The next best is Buddy probably. Then Dunstall and a bit of a gap to S.Michael, GAJ & Diesel.

Then you have the group that Nick might find himself in at some stage.

It's extraordinary that some think this Mark Arceri in a Dinner Suit, is the GOAT! He's not even the GOAT of his family yet.

In the context of on the field. Clearly Cripps has a high output as well based on metrics he is measured by. As does Daicos. You’re arguing Daicos has a higher output. I am asking you to prove it or explain what output means, because all players have output. Saying the word ‘output’ isn’t proving a thing.

Daicos beats Cripps in 7 of the 9 individual awards - by 1, 6, 16, 17, unknown, unknown and unknown positions respectively.

Or do you think it's reasonable to compare Daicos as a 20, 21 and 22 year old with Cripps at the prime age for an AFL player?
