The last few years he's had 30+ year olds in Pendles, Sidey and Crisp, with cameo appearances from Mitchell and De Goey.

Compare that with Bont, for example, who has Libba, Richards, Macrae, etc.

And guess which team has performed better?

Umpires can’t do their jobs let alone judge players. The media panders to the name and Collingwood. He gets the ball, he is clean, he is highly skilled and he looks great going forward in a team doing well. There has never been such hysteria for a young player, purely due to the media exposure.

Honestly, he just isn’t as good or rounded as a pure mid as other players. He was god awful come finals. You can wipe your arse with the awards, given his performance in the PF is a measure of how he played then he was shockingly overrated.

His skill is in making something out of nothing which he does 5 times a game. I havent een a Collingwood player ever do this in the 50 years i have watched Collingwood. He is the best Pies player i have ever seen and its not even close. And this is something you cannot argue with because its my opinion

Daicos' 9 coaches votes in finals (7 before GF adjustment) with an 11th place finish in the Finals MVP doesn't overturn finishing behind Bont in all of the Brownlow, League MVP, Coaches Association and BnF. Especially when Bont actually won 2 of those along with best captain in the league.

If Bont played in and absolutely bombed in finals while Daicos picked up some BOGs it might be a different story.
