There's being positive.

Then there is being realistic.

You don't get points for effort in this league.

I refuse to congratulate professional footballers because of the effort they put in.

It's expected.

So are the execution of basic skills. Like hitting short passes. Which aren't done to a high enough standard. And haven't been for a number of years.

I'm going to follow on from this because I see it as a fundamental issue on this board.
Reasonable debate is stifled by a heap of chicken little whingers who spew bile on repeat with little to no regard for others.

Nobody wants to read a half sentence on how one player (and/or the coach) is shit, and those posting the same crap in every thread regardless of topic is cringeworthy.

Crap posting is HEAVILY diluting the quality on this board, and hence makes following threads a time consuming activity with no greater payback. Using the ignore function puts all the onus onto the victim, it makes the board "opt out" with a lot of effort.

Would be great to have a section of the board that is "opt in", for people who post quality. Invite only, mods control. maybe keep it to a changes and post game threads.

The worst thing is that a lot of the crap posting is coming from guys who know a bit about footy and ought to know better. Already, a few good posters have started to drop off the board.

From what I've been told it's up to the mods to make a call on what passes or not.

Just a heap of uneducated bogans making poor calls on a bloke theyve never met.

1) it shouldn't have even been close, 5 goals up and we start p1ssing it up.

2) not only do we p1ss it up but Scott has no plan to halt opposition momentum, they were in front 10 minutes later!

3) the names have already been mentioned, why are they still playing?

4) Lindsay is a choker, I don't care if it's the last kick of the game you nail that to win the game especially after a putrid entry 20 seconds earlier, if we were on the receiving end I guarantee you the opposition breaks our heart with a last gasp goal...then again our skills under no pressure are pathetic enough.

5) this team has heart, I will never question the commitment, they gave it everything, but they have killed me 4 rounds in with 2 unloseable games.

As for Richmond... best they've really played is west coast. After they had 6 day turn around, at a ground they are useless in, in the rain.

This hasn't been mentioned but i feel i need to say it. Tarrant ******* annoyed me in the second half today. the bloke though he'd try and be a hero and attempt to be bloody superman when he flew needlessly for screamers in the backline at crucial stages and dropped all 4 attempts that i counted. there was one in the last quarter that killed us. You can't damn afford to do that.. communicate with teammates... one or two blokes are supposed to fly the rest STAY DOWN AND MAN UP ON THE CRUMERS.

Tarrant should be the one going up everyday of the week

ill say it. I'm not his biggest fan but Hansen was exceptional today

I was on the fence about him staying in the team for round 2, but he has improved each week since then.

Disposal seemed much better today on top of his normal positives. Still don't like us having both him and Thompson in the same team though. That's a very experienced backline, in terms of games, and we have numerous kids who need some of that experience.

I'm frustrated. I'm so sick of this crap.

I'm not sure I'll be watching next week if blokes like Swallow, Gibson and Thompson continue to get games.

Scott is purely playing to try and get a few wins and it's going to take this team backwards at a rate of knots for the future.

I would prefer to lose by 30+ Points while playing the kids who have potential and a future with the club rather than achieving honourable heartbreaking losses with proven plodders like those mentioned above.

Speaking of Paul Riordan. I just want to say his estimates of those four kicks at half time was outstanding. I was on level 3 overlooking the measuring cones, and every single distance he gave was spot on. Spot. ****in. On.

Not here to get into an argument but the umpiring was ****ing horrible both ways. North got away with a bit as did the dogs. North got some lucky free kicks as the dogs did.
