Y'all know I'm not a North lover, far from it, but credit where it's due. You guys delivered on the Good Friday game and despite not having the onfield result you would have wanted, take heart that your club and supporters walked the walk after years of talking the talk, and by rights you've locked yourselves away a genuine blockbuster for years to come, and that's worth a lot more than a mere win in reality (although I know it would have been nice!).

Good Friday is now North Melbourne (and the Bulldogs). You can take some solace in that.

Great effort guys. I'm sure you will dissect your team over the week but one thing was not lacking.... courage. You had it in spades. Poor skill level on both sides was what kept it close Please don't be Swannies and blame umps. When Swallow TWICE in the space of 60 seconds tried to break tackles and got caught, both ball ups. The ruck free was correct by the rules. It's just a shit rule. Believe me we would love it to be removed.

You have too many talls it seems. Can we lend Majak and get some games into him for you ? No Roughy, Redpath, Boyd or Cloke our cupboard is bare. We'll give him back....scouts honour !!

The ruck call was not correct, Bontempelli has admitted he nominated for the the ruck before Dunkley.

But other then that I agree, I'm certainly not blaming the umps. We had chances to finish it off and we shot ourselves in the foot.

Money is nice but multiple premierships even at a plastic club seems important to him too...

Negative- The constant barracking by the commentary box. They're supposed to be impartial callers but they constantly jizzed about the dogs like there was only one team out there.

Yeh I was saying to my dad I was sick of it and how much I hate channel 7. Why did they change the AFL app cause now I can't stream and delay it by a few seconds to get radio commentary by using a trick with my bluetooth. 2 years didnt have to put up with McAvaney and BT etc.

Much rather Clarke, Mountford or Wagner - all 3 should have played this week.

But Bont was not aware Dunks had already nominated. The ump did. It's just a ridiculous rule. Last week we had a situation where ump called "no rucking Bulldogs, no nominated player". Stowe had to let Sandi go solo. It's just dumb.

There were a fair few throws (not saying the dogs didnt) but they were missed. Attack on Cloke that didn't get paid and also one on Adams late in the game

As disappointed as I am with losing this game, we were in it all day our skills were crap all day and we went down by under a kick.

We have a lot to look forward to when the younger guys get more game time and we get back Woods, Jed Anderson, Jacobs and Clarke and some of the other guys get going.

I know you're only taking the piss but if the losses were like the ones we have been having and we are 1-2 class players of winning a lot of those games and on that coin, I think the choice to come to be 'the difference' is obvious one to make.

So many people on here are missing the point. Most clubs have one goal, to win the premiership.
At North we have two goals, 1. to win the premiership and 2. The long term viability of the club. Today we went a long way to securing goal no 2. Big crowd - Tick Entertaining game - Tick. GFF is ours now for the foreseeable future, this is a massive win.We need a marquee game like this as a club going forward.
We were never going to win the flag this year so essentially a loss = a better draft pick = more chance of winning the flag in the future.Today was huge for the club, lets enjoy it.
