yep my gut instinct says the same but from a 'whats best for Essendon' pov, a Hawkes win helps keep that chance, however unlikely, of a top 4 spot alive.

If the crows lose then 8th spot is very much up for grabs between port, the hawks, dogs and the crows.

The hawks and lions game is massive for both teams. Think hawthorn can finish 8th if they win today and think the lions will finish top 4 if they win.
