Not even remotely close. Polled the most votes ever but Jobe Watson had a better season when he won it.

Numbers are inflated these days compared to previous counts because the talent is spread so thin.

Very good player but won't even make the top 20 of all time.

As many MVP's as Ablett jr - who I rate the best of the modern era. I couldn't see anyone being at the level of Ablett jr over such a long time. What Dangerfield and Fyfe have done the past couple of years - Ablett jr did that over the space of 6-7 years. Even then, there is a big difference in skills wise between Danger/Fyfe Vs Ablett jr.
This. Does Bald Jesus have a deficiency in his game? I can't think of one.

Dangerfield has the potential to be the best player in the competition for a few years. I wouldn't go as far as saying potential GOAT. His deficiencies, like his kicking and decision making, will continually hold him back.

Also side note, considering how much abuse the umpires cop from literally everyone, every season, people continually rate the Brownlow over other awards. Baffling.

As good as Gaz is/was he never had 6 or 7 seasons as good as Dangers this year or Fyfe's last year. Would have 6 or 7 Brownlows if that were the case. He was unlucky not to have 3 or 4 but any more than that is pushing it.

The quality of Ablett's game was much higher than Dangerfield's ever will be. I think you easily forget GAJ at his peak.

A lot of people going mental and comparing Dangerfield's output to date against the all time greats when the question clearly asks about potential.

The answer still remains no however. By 26, you can tell if someone has the necessary attributes and skillset to become a GOAT (remember that means there is nobody in the history of the game that has been better) and Dangerfield doesn't have them.

The only player in the comp that I can see has the potential for GOAT status is (besides Ablett) Bontempelli, but even that call is tenuous at this stage.

Needs to hit targets more accurately, not bomb them in hope. You can rack up 30-40 per game but they are meaningless if they don't contribute to a win.

Would also help if he were accurate in front of goal.

Also needs to win a premiership and he's at the wrong club if he wnts premiership success.

Nothing more than a good ordinary player at this stage, value way over increased thanks to a rabid media outfit looking for the next C.Judd.

I'd hate to see how the cats would have gone this year without him. Not sure they would have made the top 8.

You mean like his bog vs the swans in the prelim? :drunk:

Mitchell was more influential. and much as it pains, Buddy was BOG

Danger has merely achieved what Shane Crawford, Matty Priddis and Shane Woewodin has. a really good season

Ablett will always be a level above Dangerfield by virtue of being able to kick, let alone being an elite kick.

Dangerfield's style of play might stand out more, but his kicking isn't even 1/10th as good as Ablett's.

He's a clean cut, more selfish, less funny version of swan.
Or a much crapper version of GAJ/Judd- same explosiveness, loves a cheap posession, yet skills are far worse than GAJ, and worse than Judd

He is most similar to Fyfe of modern greats- yet (i know I am biased) Fyfe has greater influence on games and is arguably a better team player.

If given the choice between Danger and Luke PArker- I'd pick Parker every time

Correct, I'd also throw in people forget GAJ injuries and the impact they've had year after year. Even at the suns he would have became the best without the injuries.

If Bigfooty did a weather forecast, it would be along the lines of 'it rained today, therefore it will rain forever.'

Really, buddy? To be honest I turned off at halftime, fantastic first quarter but was bud bog across the whole game?

The player with the highest tally in Brownlow history is good-ordinary.

Right.
