F*** Chip Kelly

I don't even think Smith was a panic pick. We had a big need at OLB, we were being mocked OLB or WR, we just reached for him.

He's getting a lot of positive news the past 24 hours, he seems more comfortable being able to play DE over OLB, because he doesn't have to read and react, just attack.

If there's anyone that will get the best of him, it will be Schwartz. Jerry Hughes was a massive bust until he got to Buffalo and got to play with JS.

I am just basing what I said from what I read here:
Having said that, the process by which the Eagles arrived at the Smith pick probably had plenty to do with last week’s changes. By all accounts, the team targeted six players in the first round. The last of the six, Alabama safety Ha HaClinton-Dix, went off the board right before the Eagles picked.

I am with you on Schwartz, he has a great track record as a D Coordinator, it appears Jaylen Watkins is producing at safety, even if its in a backup role.

Bradford gone...who is qb 1?

Holy ******* s**t balls, it has to be Wentz after what I saw against the Jets yesterday, no way Daniel is starting. Nice work getting the Vik's first rounder, Howie the man & all that...

Eagles trade Sam Bradford to the Vikings; Fans, experts react

The Inquirer's Zach Berman has confirmeda report by ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Eagles have traded away starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Berman, the Eagles will receive the Vikings' first round pick in next year's draft, timely considering the NFL just announced the draft will be held in Philadelphia. The Eagles also receive a 2018 fourth-round pick.

Turner made it & another QB to come in

Holy crap!
Back in the first Rd & Wentz is starting...
The 53 roster looks pretty solid except at LB, who will be added?

Sounds like Goode is #54 and just waiting for a spot to open either with Rowe trade or Johnsons roster exception for the suspension.

Bigger move than keeping Turner is C.J Smith! So excited for him.

We probably don't add another QB either. Unless an injury. We need the depth at other positions.

I very much hope he's ready!

What do we think the expectations are this season?

tbh on what Ive seen so far not much at all with problems at multiple positions before the Bradford move, & now it's one of either a) a backup qb who just doesn't look like he can make the grade (despite the big pay cheque) or b) a rookie who may or may not be ready & may need more time to get over his injury.

I'm on the Wentz bandwagon bigtime but don't want to see him get thrown in with an offence that isn't inspiring much confidence at this point.

We'll find out soon enough...

We claimed three off waivers

WR Bryce Treggs (SF)
DB Terrence Brooks (BAL)
LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (NE)

Treggs UDFA 2016
Brooks was a 3rd round pick in 2014
KGH was a 6th from this past draft

Cut Hart, CJ Smith and Turner

Added these five to the PS so far

G Darrell Greene
WR Marcus Johnson
RB Byron Marshall
DT Aziz Shittu
WR David Watford

As long as he doesn't think he can continue his college style football ( see Tampa ) he should be fine. He is definitely going to do better than Goff o_O

sorry Vik's, it's just the way we do...

Historically, Philadelphia quarterbacks stink after the Eagles trade them

The Eagles trade their quarterbacks. A lot. In fact, since 2010, they have traded Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb, Nick Foles, Matt Barkley, Mark Sanchez, and now Sam Bradford. (They also let Michael Vick walk in free agency).

On the one hand, that clearly illustrates how unstable the Eagles' quarterback situation has been since the McNabb days. On the other hand, at least the Eagles have avoided having egg on their face (Sonny Jurgensen aside, way back in the day) by avoiding the embarrassment of a traded quarterback performing well elsewhere.

Here is a look at all the quarterbacks the Eagles have traded since the beginning of the McNabb era, and how they performed with their next team.

Rodney Peete, 1999: Traded to Redskins for a 6th-round pick
Peete played in three games for the Redskins. He had 17 pass attempts before moving on to Oakland the following year.

Bobby Hoying, 1999: Traded to Raiders for a 6th-round pick
Hoying had seven pass attempts for Oakland over two years before he retired in 2001.

A.J. Feeley, 2004: Traded to the Dolphins for a 2nd-round pick in 2005
Feeley saw action in just 11 games in Miami, posting a horrendous 61.7 QB rating. Midway through the 2005 season, the Dolphins traded Feeley to the San Diego Chargers for Cleo Lemon.

Kelly Holcomb, 2007: Traded to the Vikings for a 6th-round pick in 2009
Holcomb played in three games for the Vikings in 2007, posting a 73.1 QB rating. He retired the following offseason.

Donovan McNabb, 2010: Traded to the Redskins for a 2nd-round pick in 2010 and a 4th-round pick in 2011
McNabb played one year in Washington, posting a QB rating of 77.1. He was demoted to the third-string by Mike Shanahan before the Redskins shipped him off to the Minnesota Vikings for a sixth-round pick the following offseason.

Kevin Kolb, 2011: Traded to the Cardinals for a 2nd-round pick and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Kolb ended up starting just 14 games for Arizona, posting a QB rating of 83.2 in two years there. He suffered a myriad of injuries, including turf toe, a concussion, and a rib injury, before the team asked him to take a pay cut. When the Cardinals and Kolb could not come to an agreement on a restructured deal, they cut him.

Nick Foles, 2015: Traded to the Rams along with a 2nd-round pick for Sam Bradford
In Foles' only season with the Rams, he was arguably the worst starting quarterback in the NFL, posting a 69.0 QB rating before being benched in favor of Case Keenum. He was released after one season.

Matt Barkley, 2015: Traded to the Cardinals for a 7th-round pick
Barkley was a regular on the Cardinals' inactive list during the 2015 season, never getting into a single game. He was cut Saturday.

Mark Sanchez, 2016: Traded to the Broncos for a conditional 7th-round pick (that became nothing)
Sanchez lost a quarterback competition to a Trevor Siemian, a guy with precisely zero career pass attempts. He was released Saturday, and then quickly signed by the Dallas Cowboys.

Sam Bradford, 2016: Traded to the Vikings for a 1st-round pick in 2017, and a 4th-round pick (that can become a 3rd- or 2nd-round pick based on unlikely conditions) in 2018

Good luck, Minnesota.

Looking at the schedule, you can see the argument for starting Wentz, he plays some super soft defenses in the first 9 weeks.
I just hope he is starting because he is better than Daniel, not because of development. You have to earn the starting spot, not given it and if the coach gives him to starting spot, it sends the wrong message to the rest of the locker room.

I hope beckham-green realises his talent and somehow Lane starts the year, is it too much to ask that Nelson shows promise and Mathews does not get injured?

Pederson said Lane will start week 1 unless something changes in the next 5 days.

On Wentz vs Daniel. 100% preseason showed that Wentz was the better choice if the team wanted to win this year, which DP still does.

He also said if Bradford was here he could not see a scenario in which Wentz played at all this season (probably barring injuries).

His press conference is worth a watch.

Lost up in it all was that DPs father passed away at the same time the trade was going down.
