Port Adelaide. The real deal or pretenders?

Serious question Port fans.

Would you prefer winning the Semi and losing the Prelim by a goal?
or
Getting flogged at home by GWS this week by 6 goals+ ?
You never want to see your team lose but Hinkley needs the blow torch on him, so going out this week in embarassing fashion will jack that up considerably.

This loser mentality/defensive minded set up every time we're in September has to change. That Brisbane game ended with the same stench the 2021 prelim had. Its not about losing to Brisbane at the Gabba, it's the manner of how we lost. ******* pissweak and something that us port supporters have witnessed far too often. I've called us the Tottenham Hotspurs of the AFL for a while now, s**t the bed whenever we have any pressure on us. That's on the coach.

Sanfl and AFL flags?
Yea and a stretch for an AFLW.. it doesn't really matter they've achieved absolutely none of it.

It's actually more ridiculous to include SANFL & AFLW as part of the goal, small fry & totally in line with the current vanilla administration.

Well the sanfl flags are basically impossible given the rules around finals availability.
That and most afl players have checked out.

Port Magpies might never win a flag in the sanfl ever again which would be sad.

AFL reserves needs to happen.

AFL reserves needs to happen.

Can we get this done.

It will be a sad day when the PB's are forever shelved but there is no point sticking around in meaningless competition that despises the AFL represented teams. Surely it wouldn't cost that much more to do considering you can sync the reserves fixture with the main fixture. The reserves team could either play as a curtain raiser at the main stadium or at the home (training) ground on the same day.

It would add dollars to the league IMO.
Extra TV rights because people will watch.

I agree, I cbf watching eagles in wafl as it’s a stacked deck against them. They arent really wanted.

If we could have a real reserves team with an actual cachet and access to the players we want - be nice to see club stalwarts play on another year or two past their afl career to teach up and coming kids etc.

Could really make years like this where the main team sucks more interesting.

SANFL has nothing really but an interest factor for watching developing players on the AFL list & potential draftees from the other clubs.

The No AFL in SANFL brigade are probably in for a shock if an AFL reserves comp happens at some point & fan interest in the SANFL drops to div 3 ammos level.

Whats the rule about finals eligibility in the SANFL.

Peel Thunder (dockers reserves) are favourites in a prelim this weekend in the WAFL finals.

I remember the days our reserves team use to play at the gabba as a curtain raiser. My dad and I use to go early and watch the 2 games. Good ole days

Yeah. It's the coach that's the problem lol.

This is on the coach.
There is a pattern of being completely and utterly unprepared in a preliminary final. It's ok if you are at least in the game and lose by 4-6 goals with genuine effort but there's no way GWS are that much better than Port Adelaide. Certainly not based on this years results.

Port don't have the players to compete. Sorry, but it's true.
