It is disgusting and disgraceful. How can a doctor see that vision and not decide that a cautious approach would be best? To not even do the HIA. It's a slap in the face to everyone.

The AFL will be paying more money as a result of this vision. It shows a total lack of care and caution.

And to invent a migraine rather than concussion is just pathetic for the welfare of Jones whom they will happily risk next week.

How low is this club?

Not sure how the cost could possibly outweigh the detriment to have had Allir go through the HIA. In an age where being overly cautious is the preferred route, what a shonky decision.

You see players get dragged off for knocks where they got straight back up.

For a guy who was definitely hit in the head at pace, went down limp, and stayed down - and there’s no evidence of a need of a HIA? Bullshit.

AFL still aren't serious enough about this stuff.

Example A, contracted AFLW player Tayla Harris being allowed to go and do this in her off season View attachment 1759161

How is that the AFLs fault?

Does she need the AFL to tell her that getting punched in the head isn’t good for her head?

She chased the money.

Plus we’ve only had one obvious incident where Clearly need to be assessed players weren’t. That’s tonight. It’s not a league wide issue. Even Butters/Jonas last year were fine, it was just they had cuts. A lot different to tonight.

And if you want to bring up Harris, just remember Shane Tuck had a boxing career post footy which included KO’s…

How can her club (don't even know who she plays for anymore) allow her to do that while contracted? Ollie Wines copped so much s**t for going wake boarding in his off season, then Harris is going off to go get willingly punched in the head and there's crickets? Sounds hypocritical to me.

Who gives a * what they do in their spare time? That's on them. If Ollie wines goes wakeboarding and smashes his head into the water, that's not the AFLs fault.

I'd imagine there would be more than a few doctors willing to challenge the decision of that doctor.

The thing is, if the doctors ticked it off, what can the AFL realistically do in this scenario? Port Adelaide will just say we took our doctors word that Aliir was okay, who are we to argue with him as our hired medical professional?
If anything, it's the doctor that should be facing the consequences for okaying it. I don't think the club can be held accountable when we've hired this doctor specifically as our medical professional to give us the best advice.

Taylah has been on the boxing circuit for years now. How you can compare this to being an AFL issue is ludicrous.

She got beat in her last fight from which your photo is from and no one wins every bout but using this angle and/or argument to excuse your own club is just pathetic.
