Yes, probably would have been better to call that breaking even, which it essentially is for an organisation of our total turnover. That is still a pretty good effort considering on field performance!

To remain profitable in a s**t year is encouraging. Now for the customary sentence about being disappointed it's not a *puts pinky to mouth* $1 million figure. And a second sentence about waiting for the crers $950k 'cash profit' announcement.

I do hope we're paying down our debt. I don't care if we announce a $1 profit so long as we have a sustainable business model and no bad debts.

We could probably massage the numbers and produce a profit in the hundreds of thousands but why would we want to give the SANFL clubs an easy target?

I wonder how much money the club received per win from member pledges in 2016, and how many wins/losses we were away from not making any profit at all. Even if 'only' 10,000 members pledged 'just' $10.00 per win, that would have raised $1Million in 2016, and one less win would have seen us way in the red

If we were like other clubs we would announce a profit of $900k plus saying that is our operating profit before depreciation and amortisation.
