Got my Tassie Founding Member sticker in the mail this morning.

When I opened up the fold up envelope it came in it had some words of inspiration for the mob.

There's one thing that defines this team,
People,
Unwavering people,
Proud people,
Our people.

........

From the ice in our breath, to the gravel in our veins, we are the team.

I get the ice bit, its bloody cold down there, but is the gravel in our veins a nod to the historic gravel ground in Queenstown??

In Queenstown the sulphur dioxide from smelting activities meant the grass wouldn't grow, so gravel was used which meant they didn't play on bogging mud filled ground as they get about 2400mm of rain each year.

Its a unique marketing point I guess. Would love to see an AFL preseason game scheduled there, maybe Tassie's first vs the reigning premiers in their first year and find out if the AFL blokes can handle the Tassie gravel in their veins blokes.

Another unique Tassie thing I'd like to see them use in their marketing is the great Brett Croswell. If there was a Norm Smith in the 60s and 70s he probably would have 2 maybe 3 of them. He should be in the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

Maybe a Tassie team will see he be inducted the year they get into the AFL. He used to write bloody interesting articles in the Melbourne papers, was from Launceston, but lives in Sandy Bay in Hobart, has become a bit of a recluse due to health reasons the last 15-20 years, but gave a great eulogy about Ron Barassi, on tape, at Barassi's state memorial service. He followed Barassi from Carlton, to North Melbourne to Melbourne, as he admired him, but he got into lots of verbal fights with him.

True! Ridiculous defence, and a farcical outcome! But ... no way in hell was that medium contact! Lever is an absolute tosser, and deliberately pushes his head into the ground during the tackle, and then looks up at the umpire for the freekick! Players are admitting they do it, and he def does it here.

IMO, the end result is fair, even though the tribunal screwed the pooch getting there!

Ps ... is there a more punchable face in the AFL?

Nah, Lever gets a pass over his crows disposals.

Tipping the Bombers in this one. I think their midfield will slaughter the Crows.

Bickley reckons the Crows will be asking for a home ANZAC Round game in the future, they've done bugger all work in that space compared to us but it sounds like something they'd do.
The Crows didn't even exist when the ANZACs stormed Gallipoli, we did. No Crows players have ever given their lives serving the country, plenty of PAFC players have. End of discussion.

I recall he was on the train a couple seasons back too, didn't see any reason why they shouldn't host it

Can't stand him tbh, incredibly bias towards the Crows but veils it, unlike someone like Rowey.

My bias is pretty obvious. But this ANZAC jumper, the crows first apparently, looks a shocker to me and typically derivative.

But the appropriation of ANZAC Day by the AFL for commercialisation reasons totally pisses me off in any case.

Also biased but I'm glad it's not just me that thinks it's awful. Such a 'Look at me' design.

Subtlety? But We're The Team For All South Australians.

why do the crows always look like campaigners when they pose

Well we're talking about commemorating the ANZAC Campaign, so I imagine the media mob at West Lakes went looking for the biggest campaigner they have.

No surprise that Ben Keays was chosen.

Flashbacks to the Tex power stance 😂

Agree, it’s ugly.
Too obvious and as you said derivative.
