now if you know who’s retirement isnt announced before the end of next week… then we’ll know DMAC is getting yet another year to clog the ****ing list because the golden ticket holder will definitely get a send off game…

Hmm, how to explain this, in a way you'll understand.....

Right, search back in your memory, way, way back, to that time when we had Chayce Jones on our list and we'd tried playing him mid and forward and he hadn't really done much and arguably was going backwards.

Then, we tried him down the backlines for a bit. He seemed to do very well there. So well, in fact, that eventually he did well enough to get a game in the ones. Since re-joining the ones, he's gone from strength to strength.

Also, you may, if you use your full mental capacity, remember a tall blonde player we had called Frampton. Tried up forward, could do ok in lower level, but not at top, so we took a shot and tried him down back. Seemed to work really well.

So, we have a coach that, finally, will try players in new positions without them having to spend a preseason training with the group to see how they'll go. Something people on here have complained endlessly about. So said coach does that and seems to have uncovered two rough gems already. Yet, with nothing on the line, despite a third player, Davis, showing similar signs in doing a lot better down back than where we've played him for 4 years, we're not willing to see what we might have? Not willing to see how dumb it might have been religiously keeping him in the same spot for no result, to teach ourselves something about our own stupidity with that? sh*t, I'm interested even just to see if we can get his trade value up, sh*t even from nothing to a fourth rounder for next season would be worth it for me. Need to do this test at AFL level.

I agree, but man, we are going to have a lot of defenders

A cursory glance at recent SANFL highlights shows Gollant is absolutely worth keeping.

A full preseason where he can train and hit the weights with a healed finger and he’ll be a fantastic mid-sized/third tall option in our front half.

Fair enough, I haven't seen enough of him. Hopefully a contract extension is coming soon.

The ones that think he will be delisted probably also think Frampton is our future. Gollant has as much chance of being delisted as Riccuito speaking properly. None.

I don't reckon he gets delisted, O'Connor a high chance I think. Gollant may be dropped to the rookie list to assist in managing our tight list number situation though.
