I've been very critical of three players in particular (McIntosh, Short, Rioli) with more than a little justification, but I thought all three were excellent tonight.

McIntosh had a few fumbles here and there, but he made it extremely tough for any GC players in his vicinity and I thought his disposal was pretty good all night. His best game for the year and probably a couple of years.

Short went back to the way he played against Carlton. Head over the ball and doing the little things that he should be doing every week and while there was a clanger here or there, they were the exception rather than the rule last night. I'd like to see him pushing forward more often to be a genuine danger within 60 metres of goal.

Rioli played his best game but the club. His pressure was phenomenal and he showed how he can create something our of nothing with his evasive footwork out of congestion. He did over possess a couple of times, but I thought that he looked as much a midfielder as I've ever seen him look tonight.

If Mansell comes in next week I reckon it will be Green who makes way. It's bad luck and he had some good moments but I can't see him keeping his spot over Campbell or Rioli on last night's game.

Yesterdays effort and celebration was interesting.

My take is Port have to play a song before a game to get emotional. RFC has its own tune within us to extract the digit.

It looked like a nerve was felt last night. Hardwick helped us, he contributed to us getting three premierships however I never felt he was pure RFC soul as far as our overall journey and when he decided to leave, I did not resist but felt this could be beneficial for us and help him at the time and us as a club over time.

What was interesting is us including the fans and players seeming to be not backward in taking it up to Dimma and the Gold Coast, at Marvel. We have new toys, some of our new toys are helping us so in a way, we are achieving equal ground so lets see what happens

Yze, I do not know obviously, but listening to a few conferences he might be a very good fit or even the ideal fit as does he have a better finger on the pulse with us?? We shall see, can we unearth something with Yze, it is a journey that is unpredictable and enticing and hopefully it continues on and on as new stories unfold

Yes GC had more 50 entries and missed alot of goals but our club totally deserved that win through showing alot of fight and character.

Vlastuin was magnificent in the backline and Balta showed just what a great player he is.

Nank huge in ruck also.

Our cubs all had a crack.

So exciting watching all our cubs grow and improve together as footballers.

I always get a major lift when Junior has a great game.

He did play great footy until the injury.

Yze,not getting carried away and looking at remedying the negative parts of our game but very proud of the boys and a positive outlook.

The backline was brilliant last night. Vlaustins first half was off the charts. Thought having Balta deep was incredibly important for our overall structure. He gives such physical presence in the air and on the ground , you can see how much it benefits Vlas, Miller, Broad.

Hopper and Taranto’s contested ball work was very good. Hopper has been pretty solid so far, and again last night used his big frame at stoppages to advantage.

Seth and MRJ provided the spark when needed. I just hope Junior can finally get his body right .

Got a good one in Faull, was spent in the 2nd half, but was involved in some big contests early. I was surprised at his level of athleticism, the leap to grab the ball and goal deep forward was spectacular.

I know everyone hated the late sub, but we had a plan and you can see the strategy and buy-in.
We’re a developing squad who had a good day, and I won’t be surprised if we have more bad games. But it feels like we’re moving in the right direction, and Yze and his team deserve some credit.

We had the luxury of resting a couple of players, cruising to a 43-point lead, putting the foot off the pedal in the last, and still winning by double digits

Rioli was very good against Adelaide a couple of weeks ago. He’s been going OK, but he was a non-factor yesterday.
